It struggled to chart even on Bubbling Under and since then she has struggled to even touch that chart alone in the USA. Water was really fueled by TikTok and the virality of the dance in the USA but she hasn't had another major moment since...yet in the UK she is doing okay. Id focus on that if I were her and try to re-debut in the USA in a year or so. Lol the exaggeration. Truth or dare debuted at number #23 on the bubbling chart and peaked at #4. It was literally 4 spots away from cracking the Hot100 Commercially, "Truth or Dare" peaked at number one in five countries. It reached number four on the U.S. Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, number eleven in New Zealand, and number fifteen in Japan and Tyla's native South Africa. "Truth or Dare" received gold certifications in Brazil and Canada.
collin Posted December 17 Posted December 17 This song is strong enough for the 're-debut in the USA'. 7

Automatic Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Honestly, her team could've done a few things differently with her other singles but I feel good about this track. I guess we'll have to see how things unfold in the first quarter of 2025.
X~MoviePoP Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Tyla has it. But she needs a huge collab with a western or uk artist to bring it home. Also i hate how Tears was wasted on that coca cola collab. Tears is sooooo good. 1

I actually like Tyla (despite what others say about me on this site, I enjoy both her and Ayra's music ) but she has underperformed significantly since Water in the USA and, I mean, your comment just kinda further proves my point. I think the material is great, but she needs her Rihanna GGGB moment to keep any momentum going.
Jay L Posted December 18 Posted December 18 Love watching this song continue to grow, especially since this is when Christmas music is dominating the charts. This song is catchy af so I believe it can really take off next year. Amapiano/Afrobeats music are not very popular in the US. And to think her next album is going to have a different sound.. If she gets some hot features next year too I can see the US checking in more 1
Lightbringer007 Posted December 18 Posted December 18 this song is gonna BLOW UP when xmas + new years effect wears off 4

We've been hearing the same song for a 5th time now. The only difference with this song is it had a really GREAT music video to give it momentum but even then the GP doesn't care. I hope in 2025 they're planning for a reinvention. Edited December 18 by CristianGarcia 1 1

Tell me you didn't listen to Tyla's album without telling me. How does this sound like Water or Jump? I'm sorry but it must be cerumen impaction, there's no other explanation. Lol@ you expecting to see vast artistic growth when she's literally on her 1st album. She's got a lot of room to improve with her sophomore or even 3rd album, just let the poor girl be. The video has 20M views btw in just a month...perhaps the GP cares and its just your household that doesn't? Stay tuned cysta! 1

It has 700k plus videos on tiktok and the songs growing everyday on global spotify. Get it time. 1
Crayzik Posted December 18 Posted December 18 If you don't hear this song on New Year's Eve you're at the wrong party 6

Well I didn't listen to the album cuz the singles weren't appetizing. All those songs sound the same. Even when Rihanna does the same genre she never sounds like she's doing the same song. Either that or Tyla's voice just isn't colorful enough but something obviously ain't hitting! And billboard agrees

And billboard agrees lol i love Rihanna but lets not compare her to Tyla debut wise. TYLA>>>>>MOTS. TYLA is actually critically acclaimed and is cohesive. Her voice also sounds better than Rih's on their first album. Just say you don't like Tyla and move on with your life. We dont need your 2 streams here, she'll do well with or without your support. Global spotify: 124. Tyla- push 2 start (+19) 2 2
collin Posted December 18 Posted December 18 If she releases her second album with this exact same sound then we can criticize her, but for now, it is not a good point to make. It's actually a huge strength for her to have a very focused sound and image for her debut era? She has all the time in the world to pivot to a new "western" sound which, for some reason, people seem to want. What would that even sound like? Be fr

And billboard agrees okay so if you didn't listen to it... why comment & say her sound is the same? shes shown nothing but growth since "Water"... even her singles BEFORE "Water" sound nothing the same. stop acting like you're this big music analyzer, when in reality if every single song of her was a commercial smash; you'd be praising it for days on end. ps... if you want to hear more from her I recommend "Butterflies" "Safer" "ART" "On My Body" "Priorities" & so many more gems on "TYLA" 1

I'm not talking about praise tho... I'm talking about her flopping. Which she has every single since Water. What am I trying to analyze if google is right there.
collin Posted December 18 Posted December 18 Not sure why this girl is worth splitting hairs over for some, but I guess that's the sign that she has made it! 1
