momal Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Larry Rudolph, manager of popular singer of song Britney Spears, has said some things about the 'Criminal' hitmaker's new album and one of those things is that it has a "'Ray Of Light' vibe". Mind you, it's not all good news. "There are a couple other songs that have a really modern EDM vibe," he told Billboard, before adding: "I really think of this as Britney's 'Ray of Light' album — it's kind of like that in a lot of ways." What do you tihnk? 12 1
Popular Post AshleyLovescats887 Posted October 8 Popular Post Posted October 8 I think the only thing these two albums have in common is that they're sung by women, and one of them is sung by TWO 1 25
geddymonster Posted October 8 Posted October 8 He also called Femme Fatale her Ray of Light, so that was just his canned line at the time. 1 3
Dragonfly Posted October 8 Posted October 8 the Ray of Light™ that blinded someone in the studio who ended up adding the wrong vocals to the album? 2
ChooseyLover Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I guess that was said because William Orbit worked on Alien but it's a sacrilegious stretch. 3
Trent W Posted October 8 Posted October 8 It was FF when they said that I don't think anyone expected BJ to be a masterpiece after Work ***** dropped, which ironically was the best track in the album at the time 1
BlackoutZone Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I mean the clear trip-hop elements.. the sonic parallels of Drowned World with Alien, vulnerable appreciation of fickle things in life of Nothing Really Matters and Till It's Gone, the unconventional vocal performances of Ray of Light and It Should Be Easy. Could keep going forever! 2

We got Britney's actual vocals on… how many songs?
NEX Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Tbh everyone on atrl at the time was hyped and shaking. Even the notorious haters like Nicole switched to Britney avatars prior Work ***** release.
Rihinvention Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Truthfully, no. I was balls-deep in pop culture in 2013 and I have no recollection of this quote taking off. Looking back, this is a ridiculous claim though. I'm surprised people don't rehash it in the same way Katy still gets hounded for how PRISM was meant to be a "dark" album. 1 1
Khal Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Omg, I'd never heard of this. Absolutely diabolical to say this and then half the album isn't even her singing
Jeremiah Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Hold On Tight kinda washes all of Ray Of Light, now thinking about it
