I'm not a particularly huge fan of any of these.

 

I find that when she writes songs by herself, she regresses into the piano-led, New York restaurant, live jazz singer that she would've become if she never made it and "became" Lady Gaga.

 

 

A lot of her solo stuff feels like an extension of her 'Red & Blue' era, and that's just not for me.

 

I feel like she really benefits from working with co-writers and cool producers. Not because she can't write songs, but because deep down, she's a musical theatre girl who loves broadway and jazz. Which is fine…it's just…not pop?
