If I am bieng honest, it is probably because she isn't wearing her Candy Costume or having a horde of paparazzi surrounding her.

Think about it, most celebrities won't be recognized until they are wearing their singature outfouts.
I think something similar happened with Marilyn Monroe where once she changed her walking stlye, and removed her head scarf in NYC she started being recognized.

don't worry, she'll still get high-profile roles because her acting is acclaimed, and she'll still get Grammy nominations/wins for her music since her music is also acclaimed and consumed by the GP (ROTY/SOTY noms for DWAS incoming)! Katy on the other hand...
