Woke up today in Orlando and there's just a mild rain no wind yet. Currently working from home

Really really hope power doesn't go out. We bought a generator just in case

You aren't evacuating?

Worried for everyone! Hope all steps in Florida remain safe. This one seems very bad.

Well that's an improvement...

No, it's not :rip:

It was predicted to make landfall as cat 3 some hours ago. Now it's predicted to make landfall as a cat 4.

There are no orders in this part of Florida. We are in the middle of the state and don't experience storm surge the way costal towns do.
Storms usually die down a lot from landfall before they reach us thankfully

update: rain is coming down a little harder but still no major wind or anything crazy. Bf is in the back yard setting up the generator while I work from home

Honestly the lack of compassion i'm seeing on apps like Tiktok is just so dissapointing. I'm aware the new generation seem to lack empathy but i have just seen someone comment on a creators video where this creator is saying why she cannot evacuate and the perfectly heartbreaking but logical reasons why she can't and people are scolding her and commenting "someone tag me if she makes it" ... disgustingly weird era of social media we're in

If you reach out to other accounts, most of the users are praising it and calling it
* Milton has the right to defend itself * mocking the western media absence on Gaza and Lebanon .
Others are saying the US is finally getting what it deserves.

With all hatred inside me for Americans , my hate is always directed towards the government and politicians not the people. And am typing this while israeli strikes are bombing my city 2 miles away funded from American taxes.

Tiktok and social media in general has done irreprable damage to human minds, it's quite astonishing. The amount of people already celebrating the death of these people while they're still alive as some sort of gotcha is beyond disturbing. And I see these comments from people all over the world. We're truly cooked. :psyduck:

they're projecting 9 feet of water which will be catastrophic. we have been under tornado watches and several have hit the ground here in the southeast.

Most areas are prone to some kind of devastation or weather phenomena. This season has just been unusually active and directed at Florida, last time a season like this happened was 2004 when they got hit with 6 hurricanes in two months. Sadly because of climate change this will only continue to worsen and be more frequent.

I don't live in FL anymore but I'm always keeping an eye during hurricane season and this is making me nervous for Tampa, it's going to get wrecked. I have some friends and family that are in Tampa and have decided to stay. Hope yall riding out the storm stay safe and prepared

Don't forget about 2005, which was even worse than 2004. That was the year of Katrina, Rita, and Wilma (all of which were once in a lifetime storms).

I hope this isn't a repeat of 2004 and 2005, where this leads into a historically active hurricane season in 2025.

I was still in Miami through both of those seasons, it was crazy. Then we got nothing until Irma hit in 2017

Tornados are currently wrecking the state. :cries:

Absolutely terrifying :mazen:

In 2022 I got hit by Hurricane Fiona as a Cat 2 up here in Nova Scotia and that was bad and left me without power for 5 days so I cannot even imagine how crazy a Cat 3 or higher would be. I hope people stay safe if they're not able to evacuate :psyduck:

We took shelter at a hotel rn, feels safe, hopefully our home wont suffer any damages (is in zone e)

11 Tornado warnings at once including a huge wedge tornado you'd usually see in the midwest

most of these are inland where some people evacuated to

So apocalyptic
