It always shocks me "Dirrty" peaked so low in the US. It felt like one of the biggest hits of the whole decade to me.

Radio wouldn't support it.

I hate the GP so much. They hype up Stripped era (especially Dirrty) just in time for Halloween to dress slutty and **** but I don't feel like they support the actual music. Do they? Be about it ffs. :biblionana: I can't relate cause I religiously play my Stripped CD all year long.

Get Mine, Get Yours and Infatuation could've easily been 6-7 singles and make that era even more massive :jonny:

I don't know if I let ATRL get into my brain and it made me feel like streaming is everything but I don't understand how this album is not pulling at least two or three millions of listens daily. Even the deep cuts are immaculate (except the Overload rip-off). I'm OK is a very important piece of the album and I feel like songs like that allowed the next pop girlies to erase the shame that was attached to coming from a broken family. Even Britney has some unreleased songs post-Stripped acknowledging her own family trauma.

It's my favourite album of all time and it's insane how she released songs like Walk Away at the age of TWENTY ONE... It's such a mature album made by such a young girl, it always leaves me impressed when I listen to it

Xtina got in a little bit of trouble because Make Over sounded a lot like Overload by the Sugababes and she had to give the girls songwriting credits in the following pressings of the album.

Of course almost everything that pop girls did in the 2000s was already done by Madonna, but as a stan of the late 90s girlies I've seen how they had to pretend on interviews they came from perfect families and they had to put up with a lot of bs. Madonna paved the way but not everything was perfect out of a sudden after her. Women still had to stand up for themselves in the industry.

Stripped was not a #1 album and did not have a #1 single, so obviously it was a flop. She is a one-era wonder in the US. FLOP.

Ugh. "I don't have anything against Xtina".

Anyway, it is from an Only Fans account - getting inspiration for sure!

Listen you - I've lost my reaction privileges due to a technicality by Beyonce stans so I can not downvote you.

But just know I am very angry reading your comment. It is a LIE!!!!

Xtina has sold MILLIONS of albums and singles. She does not deserve your disrespect!

How dare you?! Shame on you!!

Stripped remains an iconic album from the past, present, and future!!

Xtina is in a very good situation with the GP atm. A similar spot as Katy a few months ago

Hopefully she plays her cards right unlike Katy

And she was only 21 when she released this album. One thing I love from Xtina is that even when she's vulnerable she's still powerful, front and center and always in control.

That's where the controversy came, GP wasn't ready for a free woman living her sexuality and not looking for a man approval.
