YouTube: Chained to the Rhythm > Feels > Million Reasons Spotify: Feels > Million Reasons > Chained to the Rhythm You got something to add? 1

BTW moved more pure albums and SPS units than Prism and also had a bigger tour. Prism only outdid BTW with 2/5 of its singles. Joanne also outsold Witness by ~1 million SPS units and by over 700k pure sales. The tour did the same numbers with less then HALF the dates. Their last 3 solo pop albums combined: Lady Gaga — 12.66m units Katy Perry — 5.11m units Even before ASIB, Gaga and Katy were not comparable.

lg6chromatica Posted October 8 Posted October 8 16 hours ago, KatyPrismSpirit said: I think so tbh. Because Gaga was completely forgotten about in 2014, 2015 and 2016. I literally forgot she existed in these years. Then the Superbowl came and ASIB followed. Both of these helped her career and elevated her again. It gave her career some legs again. Katy didn't have a boost like this (yet) post Witness. But time will tell. Die with a Smile is really doing well but will it translate into success for LG7? Cause Chromatica was a success because of the goodwill she had from ASIB and the Ariana feature (just keeping it real). Now with the negative reception to Joker and Harlequin missing the top 10, there might not be similar goodwill this time. I get it, you're suffering pretty hard right now as a KC, but let's not make this a group project. a) Ariana Grande has featured on songs that failed to reach hit status like Rain On Me. There was a tonne of hype for Stupid Love but it literally leaked in full HQ an entire month before, so much so that people grew tired of it by the time it was released - and it still managed to debut decently, while the album itself pulled 274k. Not to mention the tour being a SMASH success. $112m in 20 dates is incredible. b) Negative reception to Joker will not impact Gaga in the slightest, the straight incels who are mad at her would not be streaming her music in the first place, so no loss there. Harlequin was practically a surprise drop - so lacking in pre-orders etc. - filled primarily with JAZZ COVERS. Let's be serious. Wait until LG7 numbers drop and then be messy if you must. 1

I pity GaGa's assistant so many birthday cards and thank you notes to send all year Quick can y'all tell me what solo hit Bradley got out of ASIB? Cuz if Shallow was "Bradley's impact", then surely he must have a solo song from the movie that was just as big, if not bigger, than ARUTW (1.37B on Spotify, still getting over 1m daily to this day)? In the last 10 years alone, Katy has released 12 collabs as singles (6 of which were with artists more relevant than her at the time of collaboration). In the same amount of time, Lady Gaga has released just 3 collabs as singles (just 2 of which were more relevant than her at the time of collaboration). Not even going to bother with the lazy "b..b-but Million Reasons only became a hit after promo" excuses. Like yes, pop stars perform their songs as promotion. The more you know! 1 2
Khal Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I mean, yes? Isn't that what hits are supposed to do, boost an artist's career? Is this supposed to be some kind of brilliant revelation? 1

It is not a duet where Katy has lead credits, it is a feature where Katy has third-billing. She sings the most important part of the song, the one that went viral, and the song itself is a part of her discography whether you like it or not. Even without it, CTTR vs MR, MR wins only in Spotify streams, meanwhile CTTR has better peaks, more global top 10s, more global sales, wasn't local like MR, has more YT views. In fact, when we combined the official YouTube + Spotify steams, CTTR wins vs MR. CTTR: 760 mv + 90 audio + 585 spotify = 1 435 MR: 333 mv + 109 audio + 855 spotify = 1 297 Either way the statement that "Million Reasons is bigger than any Katy song since 2014" is not correct. 1

"B..b-but collabs!" —> Katy has released 12 collabs as singles after Dark Horse (all except 1 tanked), Gaga has released just 3 as singles in the same amount of time. "B..b-but movie hype!" —> Katy released a soundtrack song for a movie that had the backing of both NETFLIX and POKÉMON. Still tanked. "B..b-but Million Reasons had so many performances!" —> Rise was plastered EVERYWHERE during Olympics coverage and 2016 US election. Daisies was performed even more. Still tanked.
