Alldeezy Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Uh NO ... Cherryland & The Necklace are Bratz not even in The Top 10 I'll actually say Crash before Brats tbh
AshleyLovescats887 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I mean, 'BRAT' is really good but there are quite a lot of contenders for that title (GIF not necessarily related)
Sazare Posted October 7 Posted October 7 It's not even Charli's best or second best album of the decade
stevyy Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Nope, it is the 387th best album of the 2020s decade (so far). Objectively, the best albums of the 2020s: 01 - Heartbreak Weather 02 - Such Pretty Forks in the Road 03 - The Rarities 04 - When you See Yourself 05 - Dance Fever 06 - Trip 07 - Imploding the Mirage 08 - Everything I Thought It Was 09 - XXV 10 - Comples Happenings Reduced to a Simple Design
Rihinvention Posted October 7 Posted October 7 No. As far as pop girls are concerned, I would say it's folklore, Future Nostalgia, or Renaissance. My personal favourite is Chromatica though, and I say that as a semi-OGH. 1
Gladiator Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Certainly very high among the 2024 albums, but probably around high middle of my personal rankings for 2020s.
Cruel Summer Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Well, yes and no. There are other albums I like very nearly equally - HIFN, 333, Bad Mode, HMHAS, Cowboy Carter, Nurture, Screen Violence and maybe some others I'm forgetting - and then a couple albums I like more (Evermore for example, and whatever project Tinashe is constructing if the ongoing trilogy is collected as one final album at the end). But Brat is on the very short list of contenders for that title for me, and what it has that most others lack is the powerful narrative of Charli both getting the recognition she is due and fulfilling the promise of her artistry with her best album. There is very little music that has ever moved me the way that Charli's has, and there is no more focused and almost no more fully-realized version of that artistry than Brat. Her self-titled album, though, would have been a strong contender had it been within this decade. I maintain that it's a highly underrated record that similarly achieves great things and that I feel has had a quiet but real impact on Brat itself and other music in the hyperpop sphere.
