LostInStereo100 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 It's catchy and had dark undertones which was perfect timing for late September release Into spooky szn 6
BTS Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Sam Smith is generally a hitmaker . And of course it's controversial lyrics but catchy melody. Same reason Montero/WAP etc were hits. Any publicity is good publicity 5
J-esper Posted October 7 Posted October 7 (edited) It just seems luck overall. The sound they chose for the song showcased the most interesting part of the song. The viral sound and catchiness of it stuck. Even though the song as a whole is nothing to write home about. Had they chose a part of one of the verses as sound, it never would have caught on. Life Savers Posted October 7 Posted October 7 No idea. There must be something to it but I personally find it unlistenable.
Polgg48 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 i keep coming back to this song more than so called hits this year so far, idk why it's that catchy tho 1
Shaner69 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 It was a huge hit for a bit. This basically treads water because massive hits like "Levitating" and "Beautiful Things" peak at #2. Those singles prove a peak and drop means nothing.
Great808 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Because Kim. The song is about Men who cheat on their wives with women and then Kim comes along the second verse to reveal that the women in question are trans women. She made the song and it wouldn't have worked without her 1
