Lagerfeld Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I feel like people are doing too much on Gaga right now. She's just had one of the biggest hits of her career with Die with a Smile, and she is set to bring back Rah Rah fashions and music with her proper LG7 comeback. I feel that stans are dragging her for Joker: Folie à Deux, even though it seems to be more of a passion project, and she didn't have much screen time in the movie. The success of DWAS will translate into acclaim for LG7, and the public is still interested in a proper era. What do you think? 1 3 6 2
RideOrDie Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Joaquin Phoenix's eponymous Joker takes the stand in a sequel that dances around while the story remains still, although Lady Gaga's wildcard energy gives Folie á Deux some verve. 3 8 1

Sharamee6 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) I think you meant to say well-deserved. The truth always gets exposed in the end. Good things come for those who wait. She's wronged many artists/creative directors, to catapult and elevate her own career. Karma is a B..... Edited October 4 by Sharamee6 7 3 9

Gucci and Joker Two times in a row Looks like Bradley was really that 1 people in the room with the others 99 who didn't believed her 1 1
Pop Posted October 4 Posted October 4 The one responsible is the director, however Gaga was dumb to focus so much energy and attention on this movie. She needs to focus on her own artistry. 1 4
The7thStranger Posted October 4 Posted October 4 It feels weird given that her performance is one of the few things people seem to like. What seems to be ticking people off is the concept itself. 1

OnlyManInTheWorld Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Gaga's only fault is that she got attached to the wrong project. She can still recover with some good movie. 1 2
Galah Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Doing too much? Honestly she hasn't received even 1/100th of the hate any other female pop artist would receive from the Monsters if they released dual film/album mega bombs in the same week. Everyone is taking it easy, and that's putting it mildly. People were way harsher during the ARTPOP era, and this disaster makes that era look like a global megasmash. 2 2 1
alexrex Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) It's mostly the Katykats that are getting even for mocking the disastrous 143-OUT era. And also some Madonna fans that still hold a grudge after a decade of their feud, which is pointless and boring. And then there's also the others that roll with it and love the drama. insomniac Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Gratuitous? Not sure, cause if she's bad in it then she's bad... (have yet to see it and not sure what the general consensus is, I'll wait for the RT recap). Maybe people are being extra hard on it because of LM's promoting this as Gaga's next Awards project yet it being panned? But people acting like Gaga is over because of this are silly. She'll move on to next (probably successful) project. If people were gratuitous in any case recently it was with the joy and dragging of J.Lo, while her musical and doc was actually acclaimed. Gaga not so much. 1 1
eclipsed Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) I haven't seen much but I assume it's just the usual atrl weirdo OGHs circle jerk. I don't see anyone "lashing" her irl or even on twitter lol. The movie getting panned is to do with Todd Phillips but because that doesn't fit certain peoples narrative it's Gagas fault I guess lol. In real life it's unanimous that Gaga and Joaquin are great in the movie lol. 18 minutes ago, alexrex said: It's mostly the Katykats that are getting even for mocking the disastrous 143-OUT era. Gaga is simply an actor in someone's else's movie receiving praise for her role, whereas Katy was getting unanimously panned for her writing, dumb decisions and everything in between. Gaga did an amazing job. The critic consensus on RT says as much "Joaquin Phoenix's eponymous Joker takes the stand in a sequel that dances around while the story remains still, although Lady Gaga's wildcard energy gives Folie á Deux some verve." If gaga plans to have a long movie career she's gonna have several more panned movies are they gonna get their life every time that happens? It seems pathetic Edited October 4 by eclipsed 1 2
Gelato Posted October 4 Posted October 4 well yes, but katycats have to take out their frustration that she obliterated her last chance of a successful comeback by recruiting an alleged rapist somehow. i'm understanding and i'm sure gaga doesn't mind from her spot in the top 5 of the hot 100
Mariano Posted October 4 Posted October 4 It's mostly the Britney, Madonna and whatever's left of Katy stans doing the absolute most, not realizing how unhinged they look making it obvious that they have been suffering for years And yes we do have an LG7 to look forward to. New Album coming, new movie out, new jazz album out etc. Not every fanbase has that. Some fanbases could only dream of 1/10th of that and that's also the reason why Gaga is so interesting to them, because their own favs aren't and have not been in decades. 2
Popular Post Jay07 Posted October 4 Popular Post Posted October 4 (edited) Of course they are. If you have followed any movie in your life other than Katy Perry: Part of Me, you know that the actors are responsible for nothing beyond their performance. The movie having an inconsistent tone, a bad script and bad pacing is not her fault, it's the fault of the director, screenwriter and editor. This is literally movie criticism 101. Gaga's performance has been praised as the high point of the film and the reviewers are saying she was wasted in the film so again, I'm not undertsanding where this outburst of criticism towards her is coming from, other than frustrated KatyCats trying to change the subject from 143 being a failure. No one is saying Anya Taylor Joy is at fault for Furiosa failing or Cate Blanchett for Borderlands. But again, I'm expecting too much of ATRL. Edited October 4 by Jay07 12 3
CoolNebraskaGuy Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Irrespective of JFAD or Harlequin's floppage, Gaga will almost certainly have the #1 movie and song on the global charts. That sums it up pretty well! Judge the reactions of OGHs on this forum accordingly 1
