Havoc Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Why? The country community has made it very clear they dont *** with her and never will.

The only thing you can't do is submit more than 3 times. She only submitted twice (2016 with Evolution & 2022 with emails i can't sent) 4 1

Crank_It_Up Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Yeah, this is messy. Beyoncé is not gonna get into the Country fields at all, but to be fair, where else would it have gone to? I love Sabrina, but I'm sorry, she shouldn't be eligible for BNA considering how much music she has made (and charted) in the past. 5

Especially for songs like YA YA and 16 CARRIAGES. The album should've just been submitted for the sole Album of the Year category to make a statement, not in country. But if Cowboy Carter gets the Best Country Album nom there'll def be some pressure for voters after her snub at the CMAs. Could work in her favor
Popular Post Abracadabra Posted October 2 Popular Post Posted October 2 They really should just rename the category to "Best Breakthrough Artist", they would really save themselves so much of the discourse that is happening almost every year now 26 3
Rama Posted October 2 Posted October 2 BNA should have a 2 year limit since the artist's first official release An award for artists who come out the gate swinging (Gaga in 2010 would be the perfect example) 1
JennyWayne Posted October 2 Posted October 2 And to think Gaga wasn't eligible for BNA everyone say thank you Lady Gaga for taking one for the team 1
thatsmydemi Posted October 2 Posted October 2 (edited) They should change the name of the category. It doesn't feel like Best New Artist but more like Best Breakthrough Artist, although I guess the latter feels too success-oriented. Edit: nevermind, they should just change the rules again. No artist with 6 albums should be able to qualify for a Best New Artist category regardless of the times they've been submitted. Makes no sense at all. Edited October 2 by thatsmydemi 3 1
Bey'Knight Posted October 2 Posted October 2 So Beyonce won't even get nominated at all. Hopefully she submits album tracks to other categories. CC might be the first album of hers since 4 to miss out on the genre album category 1
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Sabrina fan here but girl what the hell has this category turned into? She has like 5+ albums! They need to make this category only eligible for debut albums released during the eligibility period and hard stop it there. 1
50thStateofMind Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Sabrina as BNA makes no sense and I love her. Good luck Beyonce with those country Grammys lol

Could work in her favor I highly doubt Bey is only submitting to the 4 country categories. I think the article is mainly referring to the album going for Best Country Album, but that doesn't stop her from submitting to Best America Performance, American Roots Performance, and American Roots Song. 3

Same for Chappell even though I was listening to Pink Pony Club nonstop in 2020. I'm sure she's eligible this year too, no?
Erreur2 La Nature Posted October 2 Posted October 2 This is part of why nobody takes them seriously anymore. She is not new and has released like six or seven albums. 4 2 1
GoodGuyGoneGhetto Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Beyonce, I- She should've submitted "Cowboy Carter" into the 'Best Americana' categories. That would've been perfect and she would've won in those, I think. The country GRAMMY committee is NOT going to favour her at all and they're not as 'fluid' as the R&B/Hip-Hop/Pop' categories. 2

Chappell's debut dropped last year, Sabrina's dropped a decade ago so their case is not remotely close. Chappell IS a new artist. It doesn't really matter if the gp considers Sabrina a new artist. And It's not like BNA is her only chance to get a nomination, she can submit to many other categories anyway. 1

Serving throwing everything at a wall until something sticks.
CaptainMusic Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Sabrina is not a new artist, that is absolutely ridiculous. Beyoncé will be snubbed from the country categories, they didn't even nominate Kacey's last album and Beyoncé herself made a dumb move saying that it's not a country album so why would they vote for her. She should've submitted to the Americana category.
