Popular Post Feanor Posted October 1 Popular Post Posted October 1 In the 2020s alone, Kylie has given us 3 studio albums, in addition to tons of interviews, promotional appearances, music videos, collaborations, extended/remix albums, a virtual concert (remember those?), a Vegas residency and now an upcoming global arena tour… Despite her being 35+ years deep into her career, Kylie is still releasing albums at a regular pace and is giving each one a proper "pop star era" treatment. She really is one of the few, if not the only major pop star from her peer group who's still playing the pop star game, and is clearly loving it. Other major pop divas from Kylie's time, like Madonna, Mariah, Janet & Céline haven't put out any new albums in the 2020s for various reasons, and they don't need to either as they have nothing left to prove, but even many of the younger pop stars put in minimal effort with their album eras, so all this just highlights Kylie's dedication to "give the gays everything they want" even more. Do we need to give Kylie more appreciation for still being so active as a pop star this deep into her music career? 13 10

Achilles. Posted October 1 Posted October 1 (edited) Yes. She is one of our best and most consistent pop stars. She embodies the very concept. I always think about how the cover of her greatest hits collection states "pop precision since 1987." It's such an impossibly big epithet to live up to—pop precision—and yet that is exactly what she delivers time and time again. Edited October 1 by Achilles. 9 3
Paddy Posted October 1 Posted October 1 She's clearly enjoying what she does, has passion for it, and believes and is proud of what she's doing so she goes out promotes it, plays the game, adapts to new challenges, creates fun projects for funs and treats her fans with love because she realises that without her fans she wouldn't be where she's at. True Legend. 6 1
Mitsouko Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Most certainly. She does her job. To the fullest. No complaints. Brings nothing but joy to people's lives. A professional and a LADY. 3 1
Mephisto Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Definitely! Not only does she keep feeding us and is very passionate about her music career, but also very rarely misses. And even if a specific album is not for you, you just know she's gonna deliver the next one soon. She is really worth stanning tbh. 2
formlessminutiae Posted October 1 Posted October 1 (edited) You're right and you should say it. Meanwhile, her peers are peddling conspiracies or perhaps living in the past. I respect her for being committed to emulating an idealized popstar, which is something that I think Dua really strives for. Edited October 1 by formlessminutiae 1
PoisonedIvy Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Yes, I was late to the game but she's a true pop star. One of the all time greats if you ask me.
Curaga Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Mother keeping us fed She just seems like she genuinely has so much fun doing the pop star thing and making fun music Legendary and Iconic Queen! 1
Shimenawa Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Yeah she's not lazy like other popstars. Always releasing music, touring. I don't think she views her career as work, it is her life 3
Anthinos Posted October 1 Posted October 1 (edited) I wish more pop girls were like Kylie. I will always have respect for pop girls who work hard and give so much content to their fans. It's also more fun for us fans than having to wait years between albums and new music. At the end of the day we are all here for the music and not for the headlines or chart placements. I hope Kylie continues to have success with what she does. She deserves it. Edited October 1 by Anthinos 4
smgupdated Posted October 1 Posted October 1 In my opinion, she is THE pop star. She radiates joy and positivity, truly a beacon of light. Her performances and looks are incredibly stylish, and her singles discography is by far the best in pop music. There are so many fantastic tracks in her catalog. While she may be underrated in certain aspects, her remarkable endurance speaks volumes about the quality of her work. 1 hour ago, Achilles. said: Yes. The7thStranger Posted October 1 Posted October 1 But that's the trick. In so many ways, she's not playing the game or running that same race. She's just naturally great as what she does, and that's what makes her so unique in today's pop landscape. Kylie is very much in her own lane. 5
SlowGinFizzzz Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Short answer: yes. Longer answer: yes, but I do wish her quality control these days was better; all her BMG albums have quite a few stinkers on them, which wasn't happening (to this degree) during her Parlophone days.
Saint James Posted October 1 Posted October 1 im giving my financial appreciation today when the tickets go on sale. 1
Bloodflowers. Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Yeah, she's active, releases new music and greatly adopted herself within streaming era Plus she's showing you can be a cool popstar in your 50+ years and not become a boring legacy act but deliver exciting concepts and gain younger fans She's a great representation for women who are older and still passionate about their pop game status 2
dumbsparce Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I think she's appropriately respected, no? She had a moment last year and won a grammy.
Slap Posted October 2 Posted October 2 She is a rare combination of a hard worker that also has impeccable taste and talent. Anybody on this forum who hasn't gotten into her yet and is waiting on their fave to release an album - do it now - there's SO much incredible music to get used to. 1 3
