So now this "lesser evil" argument is acceptable, but not when it comes to protecting trans and womens' rights by voting Kamala?

Interesting how y'all switch up. :biblio:

Could you point me to the post where I said you shouldn't vote?

Hamas is a direct result of Israel's decade long oppression and as history has taught us multiple times, you'll never get freedom "peacefully" or by trying to appeal to the moral sense of your oppressor.

The question in the title…. nice try CIA! :ryan3:

A ridiculous comparison and two VASTLY different levels of extreme.

Careful, you know full well that to some people Hamas are not even "evil" and actually the perfect good guy who's only doing good things and cannot be faulted.

Don't agree with their ideology, but I recognize that Palestinians see them as a lesser evil and as the only force capable of resisting the IDF. Maybe if Israel hadn't failed to uphold the Oslo accords (which were already pretty bad for the Palestinians) and didn't work so hard to undermine the secular leadership, then Hamas wouldn't be a thing today. :michael:

I dunno but Isreal is making them look like Mother Teresa in comparison

All of this "they are a result of ____" is funny.  Would y'all use the same definition for the far right resurgence in the West and embrace their actions? stephm.png

I don't support Zionism and their despicable actions and I certainly also don't support terrorist organisations that have boycotted every chance that Palestine had to create a two-state solution in order to live off the desperation and needs of the Palestinian people.

Let's be real, the only reason Hamas orchestrated October 7th was because Israel was close to come to an alliance with Saudi Arabia and they knew Israel's response would be ruthless and it would boycott any "respect" other surrounding Middle Eastern countries could have for them. Nothing more, nothing else. Hamas don't want anything good for Palestine, they just benefit from the mess and they're puppets of Iran's interests.

The real question is, why is no one talking about Iran's actions in all of this? Is it lack of information? Blunt naivety?

They're a product of trauma, fueled and enabled by their oppressors. They wouldn't exist if Palestine had a proper government with their own police force and army.

i don't support any kind of violence but we can have this conversation when Israel stops the genocide, ends the occupation, returns stolen territories, and ends apartheid. imo focusing on the means of Palestinian resistance is a distraction and does not actually address the issue at hand - which is Israeli (West supported) colonialism and violence.

like sure, we can critique Hamas all day but even if Hamas stopped existing as an organised group tomorrow nothing would change. Israel would still bomb Gaza, they would still occupy West Bank, and they would still discriminate against Palestinians living in Israel.

Just my thoughts :

To me, Theyre a terrorist group like Hezzbollah and the Israeli Goverment.
I dont support evil people. From any sides. Anyone bringin problems-death for the innocent shouldnt be supported
No excuses for violent groups or evil authoritarian or destructive goverments

i live in a Latino Country with insurgent guerilla groups and they killed so many. More than 100.000
They been ruining my country for decades
They killed my uncle. My dad was near-kidnapped by them when i was a child.
My mom had to face the fear of gettin bombed everyday when she was younger in her farm
To move from city to city i had to walk through trenches and rivers sometimes cause they used to block the highways
They're still a cancer in my country and they dont care about the people. They just wanna have power with the help of druglords
They carry a flag of "humanism" and act like theyre fighting for the "people" but is all fake **** to accomplish their goals and get richer
I studied in a public university with insurgent units in disguise and they were just awful to everyone.
Im very wary of insurgents groups and of course of the goverments of the world and their intentions behind the scenes.
With time u realize we live in a dog eat dog world and the nice people in this planet are a minority sadly.

Shame to the Israeli Goverment, Hamas,Hezzbollah and Specially to the United States,UK,West Europe,Russia and China who are the puppeters of all of these situations
My heart breaks for all the innocent palestinians, lebanese and israelis who dont wanna be part of this war and situations......
I also dont like religion. I believe in spirituality but religion-religious cult are really harmful for humanity if they have too much power.
Dont get why so many in my progressive party are always protecting religious cults who want them dead and want us to go back to the medieval-classical ages. Basic Human Rights should always go above religious ideas.

Thank u hennie. Livin in the developing world-unstable countries can be a blessing but also hell sometimes :gaycat1:
I could elaborate more but i dont wanna annoy people.....

and my situation even if its bad is nothing compared to the horrors some people are goin through in Middle East, Africa, East Europe.......in this moment

is painful to see ATRLERS involved in these wars. This decade is takin such a bad turn and is honestly very scary.
