suburbannature Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Saying Lana hasn't received backlash is CRAZY 2
byzantium Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Why should Lana get backlash? It's not like she has ever hugged a Republican or implied that genocide might be a bad thing.
piotrert Posted September 28 Posted September 28 The expose of Twitter and atrl gays is always funny to see. Hope Taylor tomorrow will kiss Brittany and you will all lose your **** again for 30 pages

Album Leak Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) Lana has always had a controversial image, and both her aesthetic and songwriting have always flirted with the idea of traditional gender roles during a time when other pop girls were actively pursuing (their form of) feminism and being socially conscious and liberal in their art. And despite her big success, she hasn't exactly been this big celebrity or a main pop girl, she has always done her own thing and hasn't really played the fame and popstardom game the same as others, and has kept her distance for the most part. So of course there are differences in how Chappell Roan and Lana Del Rey are viewed and handled in the stanworld and social media in general. But despite all this, Lana has definitely been lashed and called out plenty before, and been accused of being a Trump supporter. Her Chemtrails Over the Country Club album cover caused backlash because of its vintage aesthetic, looking like an elitist meeting of (racist) Republican women. Not to even mention what Question for the Culture caused. So uhhh, yeah. I'm not even a Lana fan and even I know this ****, goddamn. Edited September 29 by Album Leak

KingJay Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Lana is the supreme, she's amazing to her fans, her music is legendary & that's all that matters. Get over it.

But either way there has been '' you're a racist Republican '' backlash against Lana, that point still stands. Like I said, not a Lana fan.. Edited September 29 by Album Leak
MatiRod Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I think the weird backlash Lana had at the start of her career (remember when she was called a fraud because she allegedly had... lip fillers? what a bizarre time) made it so she's kind of immune to the type of criticism others in a similar position would get. She clearly does not care at all herself, and neither do her die hard fans at this point. Chappell is brand new and her fans are younger and from what I can see are viewing her in the sort of way Gaga was viewed at the start, as this rising new icon and trailblazer who represents a strong woman who stands for what's right in today's world, so she's being held to a very high standard. 1
landof0oo Posted September 29 Posted September 29 She married a transphobe and some gays on here just wave it off as "she's a bad bish that does what she wants".. did I miss something or is this a little cultish? 1 1
