We all know transitioning from a girl group to a solo career and finding success can be tough. Now that all of the LM and 5H girls have taken their shot, who missed the mark the most?

Bonus - post who you think did it best on their first shot.

Going last out of 8 might not make it the most fair, but JADE no doubt has her heel on everyone's neck.

She's moving with unbelievable quality and intention. I adore both of the releases so far and Fantasy is gonna smash.

dinah's output has been pretty middling tbh, i think jade's been putting foot on necks so far, easily, her along with mani and leigh anne have been my favs so far

jesy definitely the worst, the song was borderline unlistenable and along with the blackfishing scandal it doomed her solo career from the start

angel of my dreams and low key are my favourites

All of the 5H girls besides Camila released garbage.

All of the LM girls besides Jade released garbage.

And that's the god-honest truth!

Idk about weakest, but the strongest was clearly the UK baddie (and the Barbie) :duca: all 3 songs she's put out have been smashes and gone multi-platinum (on my Last.fm scrobbles)

Ally, Dinah or Lauren.

I've liked the majority of the outputs from all four LM girls.

Jesy from LM and Dinah from 5H. The latter is a shame, because the girl can really sing yet they gave her some throwaway demos.

The fact that Lauren was left off of here. :clap3: Her debut song was so good.

Jade's and Ally's are two great bops. Perrie's and Camila's are quite generic but ok.

Jesy has the worst one.

Jesy's song wasn't even that bad. The Diddy appearance and Nicki feature were a mess and obviously all the drama around the release ended any chance of her having a solo career. But the song itself is okay. It could've been better, but people decided they hated it before they'd even heard it.

I think Dinah and Perrie fumbled by releasing extremely boring debut singles (Heard it all before is still that bop though). I think being boring and blending into the background is more of an offence than being controversial when you're trying to break out as a soloist.

Jade did the best by far, mainly because she's way more involved creatively than the rest of these women, most of whom are just singing demos they were handed. I've never understood why Camila's label went with a basic song like Crying in the club as her debut single, if we were talking about Havana, I'd say she's up there too.

Boyz was a guilty pleasure lbr

Forget About Us is just terrible. Zero personality, could've been a Kelly Clarkson outtake from 2011, weird structure and basically goes nowhere as a major disappointment for Perrie (who many people expected something way better).

It's funny bc it's a pretty decent 5H album track but yeah a terrible debut to show "her"

LEIGH-ANNE and JADE for best. They are curating and writing everything and have put out the most cohesive material tailored to their image.

LAUREN OR DINAH for least but they weren't bad at all. Just not as eventful. I really don't think Jesys debut was bad at all as far as the single and was one of my favorites.
