ericcartman Posted September 28 Posted September 28 As we saw with the dismal partial day streams and the mid reviews, the GP and her fans say NO. But can it outdo The Gift which is a similar type of project? 3
Popular Post LVP Posted September 28 Popular Post Posted September 28 Let's remember the monsters said Beyoncé was over when the gift underperformed 16 3 1
Almighty Gaga Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Didn't The Gift have 27 tracks, original songs, collabs with Kenrick, Pharrell, Jay Z, Childish Gambino, and songs that don't even have Beyonce on them? 1 5 2
Zaram Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Would be embarrassing for Miss Beyonce if a Jazz cover album outdoes a full original song album 4
Démodé Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Hopefully no. The Gift was a quality project, even if I don't use it anymore. Harlequin is...there.

The Liddos spent years laughing at Beyonce for being "over" because The Gift underperformed. And now you want to act like it was not considered a Beyonce's album? 3 3 4
Eternium Posted September 28 Posted September 28 The Gift was re-released just to hit 1M units. It currently has 795,213,840 streams on Spotify and is pulling 198,181 streams daily with three singles. Harlequin has no singles and no re-release so far. But if Gaga were to re-release it and put her only active single of 2024 on it (Die With A Smile), it would have 424,220,053 streams total and 11,685,285 daily streams…just from one song. So obviously, Gaga CAN outdo The Gift. But is she going to put the effort in to do it? 1 3 1 6

sunbathinganimal Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) girl I wish Gar made an album comparable to The Gift instead of another ******* covers record Edited September 28 by sunbathinganimal

Smarticle Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Probably not, but it's okay. At least we can re-use the same excuses the BeyHive used during The Gift
Jon Snow Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I love Gaga but she always manages to bring karma to the Liddos that spent years shading Beyonce for The Gift and even for the BREAK MY SOUL debut 3 1 1

Yes, I do remember! 1

It was. Not the literal re-release boost 1 hour ago, Shelter said: So Gaga needs to put a duet with Bruno on an album that has nothing to do with it to do better than the Gift. I mean if Bey can get all those artists to help her passion project AND give it a re-release...AND have it released only 1-day before the film to give it the biggest impact... I guess there is a point to adding DWAS. Song name is on brand after all! 1

The same reason "Black Parade" would be on The Gift. 1 hour ago, Shelter said: So Gaga needs to put a duet with Bruno on an album that has nothing to do with it to do better than the Gift. Times are rough Beyonce had a documentary, an entire visual film, three singles and a re-release to promote The Gift, only for the album to struggle to hit 1M WW. Explain how it would be desperate for Gaga to have one single and a re-release, please. 1
superben Posted September 28 Posted September 28 The companion album would depend heavily on the success of the movie itself, and Joker does not look like it'll perform even close to The Lion King.
Devin Posted September 28 Posted September 28 idk both projects are extended visions from their respective films. the gift > harlequin for me bc theres more original songs and i prefer the black-african culture behind it.
Colmillo Posted September 28 Posted September 28 The only thing they have in common is that they're both companion albums for their respective films, but other than that they couldn't be more different, I don't think they're comparable
