Josh Posted September 28 Posted September 28 This was a perfect male pop album in the 2000's, the songs are at a perfect length and i think only two are longer than the standard length. Rock Your Body >>>>>> SexyBack The only song better than Justified is "What Goes Around"
YourFavoriteWeapon Posted September 28 Posted September 28 This is definitely a choice. FutureSex/LoveSounds is one of the best male pop albums of the 21st century. 6
LovingDays Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) I had to think about this one because both are so good. I don't think I've ever ranked his albums 'cause I just love his music so much. FutureSex was monumental and a game-changer, but Justified also has a lot of gems. I guess they're too different to compare. FS/LS came about because he saw all the critics categorizing Justified as "pop," and that disappointed him because he wanted to make an R&B record. In the end, he just decided to fully dive into that pop sound and see how far he could stretch people's perception of what's considered "pop." And you can tell it worked. There's an interview out there where he explains it much better than I do. I'll link it here if I find it. Spoiler Edit: I just checked my Lastfm and I'm shocked to see that Justified is higher than FS/LS. Not by much (it's only a difference of 108 scrobbles), but it's still shocking. James_Dean Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Naur! Justified had more fillers than FSLS- tho FSLS definitely had some intros/ outros that dragged longer than they should have...
NOW Posted September 28 Posted September 28 FS/LS for sure but Justified's album tracks are surprisingly better than I remembered when I revisited it recently. Take It From Here >>>
Punky Rooster Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Justified has too many mid tempo early 00s R&B fillers, FSLS is definitely far superior. 3
Johnny Cash Posted September 28 Posted September 28 There is something special to the simplicity of Justified, and songs like Last Night and Let's Take a Ride are career highlights but unfortunately it has some filler that drags it down. Without Take Me Now and Right for Me it would be much closer IMO 1
Kiss It Better Posted September 28 Posted September 28 FSLS is better as a whole, but Justified has higher highs for me... Rock Your Body, Senorita, Still On My Brain, Let's Take a Ride, Last Night, Nothing Else>>>>
ChooseyLover Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) It's like comparing In the Zone and Blackout and for me the less electro album always wins. I agree with you. Edited September 28 by ChooseyLover 1
mike_int Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Despite absolute success of FS/LS if I should chose then for me Justified is better album in terms of there are only 2-3 songs I skip FS/LS has very strong run of first 6 tracks but then, with exception of Loosing My Way is a bit boring for me
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted September 28 ATRL Moderator Posted September 28 Interesting take for sure!
Gorjesspazze9 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Definitely not. Justified is good, but only has 4 great songs. Future sex is one of the greatest 2000's albums produced period. Lovestone/I think she knows alone is better then Justified 1
