mathekr Posted September 27 Posted September 27 She couldn't at her peak, I don't see how she would now 5
Dolce Vita Posted September 27 Posted September 27 i know fans of the "got my nails did all japanesey" singer aren't talking about low album scores. this side project really has some of you getting brave, as if she doesn't have one of the biggest songs of the year? sit this one out booboo. 8

Digitalism Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 10 minutes ago, sunbathinganimal said: so no 80+ metacritic score = critics hated her albums got it Do you know that you have to have at least 81 to be critically acclaimed on metacritic right? And during poptimism that was super easy actually. They really don't like her music 1 3
DaphneGuinness Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Just now, mathekr said: She couldn't at her peak, I don't see how she would now TFM is 78 on Metacritic. For comparison, here's how other pop girls ranked around the same period: 19: 68 I Am Sasha Fierce: 62 Fearless: 73 Hard Candy: 65 Teenage Dream: 52 3 1
Khal Posted September 27 Posted September 27 No. I think high 70s is probably her ceiling. Could be worse and be consistently panned I guess 1

lgaga1fan Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Does this honestly matter? Her most acclaimed album of the last 10 years was probably ASIB (outside of C2C) and she's proven her talent somehow even more since then. This is also a companion piece to a movie that she herself funded as a passion project. She understands what 'Lady Gaga' as a brand is now and has said multiple times she feels more connected to her stardom than she did in YEARS (which was evident from ARTPOP to Chromatica). I think her next album will be acclaimed but also I don't think that she really cares, she's just doing her atp. 1

RatGod Posted September 27 Posted September 27 some of y'all are getting real brave hiding behind critics without actually reading reviews. Comparing a side project, jazz cover album to someone's original studio album is kind of comparing apples to oranges. Mind you the album is on par score wise with her jazz albums with the legendary Tony Bennett. The only actual critique I've seen of the album is that she's not matching the vibe of harley quinn they had expected. Everything else is either her playing it safe or getting praised. 2
Le Grande Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I'm sure the industry will kiss her ass, but she can't make anything decent for a while now. There is a reason why her last solo semi-success was Million Discounts. 2 3

mons†er Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Not a critically acclaimed pop album. Maybe more A/C but definitely not pop. She used up all her Supreme Queen Pop Juice between the first 4 albums.

Not successful enough for you?

homosexual_behaviour Posted September 27 Posted September 27 people are saying LG7 is her greatest album yet and if chromatica (which was very mid) could get 79 then LG7 is definitely getting 80+
