JT, Dua & Katy are all selling out shows despite ATRL claiming they're flopping, why?

The concerts are fun despite their latest albums flopping

Katy is like Pink in Australia, her current stuff is flopping but she was so massive from like 2010-2013 that I think she'll always have an audience thanks to her back catalogue. Have to see if she does well globally. I think she can if someone like JT can

even unknown nugu kpop acts are selling concert tickets like hotcakes right now :rip:

I mean most of those acts sell more albums than even a lot of top stars though

I mean, they're good nostalgia acts except for Dua who is fine.

New pop artists really need hits to promote a tour because they're trying to establish a fanbase.

Some of the biggest touring acts haven't had any hits in years, often decades. Older adults have way more money to spend on a night out and stick with artists for their whole lives after a point. It's why when an album flops (in general), the tours rebrand as greatest hits tours. They're not trying to appeal to fickle young fans.

I mean her tour in support of 143 is selling well, and her album is set to go top 3 in the UK, top 10 US and already went #2 in Australia. Its not THAT bad.

The album is NOT going top 3 in UK :deadbanana4:

She dropped to #6 yesterday and might do to 7-9 today when they tally the full streaming week of Charli, Taylor and Billie

"September 24, 2024"

A reminder that UK midweek charts are not like HDD where you have a final week prediction, but theyre actually just the current numbers. New albums have higher sales in the first update then lose sales as the week goes on. If an album is like #3 on the monday update it's probably gonna be like 7 or 8 by Friday.

Like I said in the very first thread about katy's tour, touring is an entirely completely different market to singles and albums. She genuinely has 12 mega hits from 2008 to 2014 that people will pay money to see in concert. They don't care if Woman's World peaked at 7, 67 or 367. They don't even wanna hear a single song from 143, they want California Gurls and Last Friday Night. Particularly in a post COVID boom for touring where people are even more hyped for concerts after being stuck inside for a year. Those users getting their kiis thinking she'd perform at 500 capacity venues were fools from the start. Same applies to every nostalgia act with a good chunk of memorable hits.

Touring is where the true love and money is so good for them. It's funny cause Katy can sell out arenas within hours based on presale alone but yall want to convince people her career is done for good because of a dumb review. Makes no sense.

The album flopped. Like get over it.

now 5 concerts in australia is a tour?

Because they still have their legacy and pletora of hits. It's funny that people don't say anything about Katy in this regard but if those Aussie dates were struggling to sell out we wouldn't hear the end of it :rip:

Because REAL WORLD stomps on online trolls and losers any day.

plus these people are established acts who have achieved immense success in their careers that 90% of the aspiring artists can only dream of (Dua is still fairly new not on the other two's level yet but she's successful on her own level), so they're set for life.

She just announced the Australia dates now because she's there for the AFL performance. She'll announce the rest of the world tour soon.

That person calls everyone that's not Blackpink "nugu" and acts like those kpop acts aren't huge album sellers with huge fanbases themselves. Ignore him :rip:
