Looking back after listening to Witness, Smile, and 143, I actually enjoyed most of Smile (more than Prism tbh). Witness and 143 continue to bore me. A lot of people agree the 143 visuals look stunning but the music is not it. So... based on the MUSIC of smile and the VISUALS of 143, would the 143 pics have created more of a spark for the Smile era instead of the blonde clown she went with?

100%

It's not even about being "cunty" and "showing skins", Smile's visuals were just awfully cheap and they didn't even elevate this clown theme. Throw these visuals on the sidewalks and I would just think a circus is coming to town.

No. The Smile songs don't fit the 143 aesthetic at all. She should have continued with the hippy retro flower power aesthetic she served here

tbh

also this one (tbese 3 songs are def guilty pleasures)

Right she should've gone with the Jimbo aesthetic.

Smile is actually a really great pop album. I relistened tonight and apart from the two clunkers Resilient and Champagne problems it is such a great listen.

NRO, CAIL, Tucked, Smile, Daisies alone.

It's crazy how even Small Talk lyrically sh*ts all over any song from 143...... :doc:

I'm convinced KP5 was originally titled Bloom or Daisies with the flower power aesthetic...

lol bye Resilient and Champagne Problems are both good too.The only bad songs on Smile are the title track, Small Talk, and NTEOTW.

But anyway she should've kept the glam hippie/chic boho aesthetic from NRO and HIH. The clown aesthetic was off-putting and cheap.

Small talk is a bop, but not actually on the album

Wait you're right. I listened to it again just now and I kinda like it. I guess at the time of release it was just disappointing compared to NRO and HIH

True! I just can't get into the witness album. I think smile is a better record
