heckinglovato Posted September 24 Posted September 24 His new lead single, Dancing In The Flames, is performing abysmally! #48 on Spotify Global (below Tate Mcrae who released on the same day) It couldn't even crack the top 10 in his own home country, Canada. Is the "biggest streaming artist in the world" facade starting to fade away, and we're starting to realize that he just produced some popular hits that happened to click, but he's not really allat? 1 2
americanlife Posted September 24 Posted September 24 No one wants his reductive 80s dance pop sound anymore. 2 2
Bartender Posted September 24 Posted September 24 It's just a rehash of what he's done before and yeah people want the old weeknd back 11
YourFavoriteWeapon Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Selenavoodoo + boring music. He needs to give us House of Balloons 2.0. 3
Popular Post tost1 Posted September 24 Popular Post Posted September 24 I just wonder who's gonna fill his hole 40 1
Popular Post aotwbys Posted September 24 Popular Post Posted September 24 Maybe this is a hot take but The Weeknd is the new Ed Sheeran in terms of overexposure 15
perpetual novice Posted September 24 Posted September 24 He honestly just keeps making the same song and I don't think his conceited second coming of God image he's desperately tried to portray over the last five or so years is helping. 4
itshyolee Posted September 24 Posted September 24 People want that depressed, misogynistic incel Trilogy Weeknd back. He needs to move on from this tired sound. 5 6
KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 24 Posted September 24 It's a great song tbh, but it is getting a little redundant. And this style of music is kinda fading out.
wish Posted September 24 Posted September 24 As a casual Weeknd fan who was hyped for his new era, I found the new single pretty underwhelming and dated. We want something new from him. 6 1
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Because he's served the same album 3-4 times and people are finally catching on! 1

This is someone who served FOUR 1B+ songs in the last two years alone yet this man continues to catch so many strays on this site... The song is definitely not my favorite but I think in the context of this next album being a summation of After Hours + Dawn FM it makes sense. It's clear from his show in Sao Paulo where he played a lot of songs from the new album that DITF is a bit of an anomaly and that darker sound people love is going to be on the album. Wait for the REAL lead "SAO PAULO ft ANITTA" 1
ChooseyLover Posted September 24 Posted September 24 It's a very mid effort. He just needs a better song if he's seeking the crazy success he's had in the past. Obviously people are tuning in when he's the most listened artist in the planet rn.
ohjulia Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Hollywood shunned him and Hollywood will make him pay the consequences for exposing the industry on The Idol. 1
Cheers Posted September 24 Posted September 24 This decade was good for him thanks to Blinding Lights, Superbowl, and Coachella back to back. He couldn't ride on that wave forever!
