Is it curtains for Ava Max?

Now... I want to preface.. I have been a stan since Sweet But Psycho in 2018

I always saw some sort of potential in her, and definitely thought Diamonds & Dancefloors was a good album to elevate this. However, that era was a mess and it's time to admit a lot of it is her fault.
Maybe You're The Problem was a strong lead, but after its release she decides to go on vacation and left fans essentially in the dust. The video is phenomenal by the way. Performances came, but they were months late, and the hype was just dead by then. The song is doing okay on streaming though, and is almost on the road to 200 million streams, good for a FLOP.
She denounced it was lead after when announcing the second single 'Million Dollar Baby' (which took ages to come). This song is a major bop and definitely deserved better. There was a good EMAs performance for it but it didn't push the single at all. Again another flop and I guess Maybe You're The Problem magically became the lead again.

The later singles got no promo at all really and the album delay + leaks really killed the era a lot, but alas, the album came and was loved by fans. Though the era still stands as a major mismanagement of good pop music. She did switch managements mid-era which didn't help and made everything rather confusing.

Just to add promising a deluxe for D&D (which she did with H&H as well) and not following through really doesn't help to build a strong fan relationship + the visualisers, which fans still beg for now.

Anyways fast forward to now and she just released 'Spot A Fake' the alleged lead to AM3 (after 'My Oh My' got denounced as the lead), and it has by far been the most disorganised release of her whole career. First teased as a demo version 2 months ago, promising a release for August, and August came and went with absolute radio silence from Ava Max. It's clear she has no management (as she recently said). Now the song has come and gone... and is flopping bad. Half of atlantic records fired and in debt is a mess. And her recent twitter tirades over the past few months has been a mess as well.

Whilst she has a lot to blame around her, now it's pretty much her doing everything for her career it's clear she has little drive to try. There's no fan connection, lives, direct interaction with fans, she comes across super fabricated a lot of the time... even like some acoustic performances on YouTube would make me happy. She did a lot of this in Heaven & Hell era to her credit, but over time it's become less and less and she's becoming frozen to the point the only time she defrosts is for her Christmas single to eat up her latest music in streams.

Anyways (likely) alcohol induced rant over goodnight?

Been curtains. The 6 gays stanning her on Discord are not going to turn it out. She is a FAD, barely ever started :sorry:

Her music is simply meh

She needs to re-invention and release experimental pop and find her own niche

No, Legend Max will enjoy a continued career success as a faceless eurodance hitmaker, I fear.

The problem is she's stagnant. While I'm not a Maxipad, Dancing's Done and D&D (Title track) are great songs and have shown that she can make more polished and mature pop tracks, but she keeps going back to doing cheesy Kings and Queens reboots. The former direction could at least give her a niche fanbase that would keep her afloat, while the latter's target audience is quite literally non-existent. Like genuinely who is Spot a Fake for?

I hope so... tbh

But she does not promote anything like she used to anymore.

Kings & Queens single promo was insane she literally performed the song anywhere and everywhere like half the radio stations / media places etc etc in the world and now she just sits at home whilst the music bombs...

She needs to reinvent herself

to be fair, its not easy to make it in the music industry

But she has done well enough for herself to continue releasing songs and an album i dont see her being dropped

She has zero charisma and apes everything done before her in the most boring, uninteresting way possible. A FAD in the truest sense of the word. Be gone elmer fudd

No one knows her as an artist outside of the internet. They might know a song or two if you played it for them, but they wouldn't know them as Ava Max songs.

Sweet But Psycho was a cute hit but she failed to capitalize on it and develop her brand beyond her dumb hair cut.

Wait sweet and psycho was six years ago? Obviously it's been curtains for a while

Atlantic being a mess atm probably isn't good news but she has enough talent and enough of a back catalogue of singles to carve a space for herself in the industry if she wants to work for it. I think she'll endure

This, she needs to quit the teeny bopper music and come back with a polished, more mature sound or she will keep flopping. Her lyrics have been so cringe and immature lately. Nobody is here for Radio Disney. I liked Diamonds and Dancefloors, but the singles from new new era have turned me off and I don't check for her anymore. It's like she has regressed into So Am I territory.

You lost me at "Maybe You're the Problem video was phenomenal"…

no, but on a real note, I feel like her last "tour" did pretty well, and also the Barbie single showed some promise. She tends to get at least one DJ collab "hit" per year, and she's kept her sound w the last two singles, despite dropping her main 2 collaborators. Even w all the Atlantic mess, I wouldn't count Ms. Koci out just yet :michael:

Completely agree. And she even said she wanted to go into the musical direction of Dancing's Done for her next album (Can't find another source for it other than Ava Max Wiki right now). So where is that sound on Spot A Fake?

Oh, really? Disappointing. That one sounded at least a bit interesting.

This still makes me so mad. She showed off all the visualizers on Tiktok. What exactly is stopping her from pressing upload on YouTube? Would be a nice gift to her fans.

Her roll-outs always feel so messy and clueless. Switching the lead single around, not delivering promised music on time etc. Okay, her management situation seems to be messy, but as someone said, she could do literally anything to connect with her fans in the meantime. Acoustic performances sound like a great idea. Or preview music in livestreams or leak some music that wasn't supposed to be released for the fun of it. Like I said: ANYTHING. Right now she doesn't really give us a reason to care about her.
