Popular Post bearman Posted September 23 Popular Post Posted September 23 Quote Kesha goes independent, launches label with ADA and Crush Kesha has launched her own independent label. It will be distributed by WMG's with Crush Music overseeing marketing and promotion. This marks Kesha's first distribution deal and gives her full creative control and ownership of her work. Kesha had previously been signed to Dr Luke's RCA label. Her discography also encompasses two No. 1 albums, ten Top 10 singles, and billions of streams. The new deal includes her future releases including her upcoming album due out in 2025, as well as the current single, "Joyride," which entered the Top 10 spot on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. "I am proud to announce this partnership for the distribution of my music through Kesha Records. My name has become synonymous with transparency, integrity, and safety, and I want to ensure that these values are upheld for myself and any future artists signed to my label." said Kesha. "Music has the power to connect the world, and I aspire for my work to be a beacon of light and goodness. I am excited to take control of my narrative and rewrite my story in the music business." Cat Kreidich, President, ADA, added: "Since the start of her career, Kesha's authenticity has distinguished her as a true artist whose vibrant self-expression resonates strongly with her fans. We believe ADA is the ideal home for her, and we're honored and committed to supporting Kesha as an independent artist while maintaining her creative integrity and unapologetic bold-spirit." 40 1 1

ChooseyLover Posted September 23 Posted September 23 (edited) I'm curious about what a distribution deal implies. I've seen most independent artists with their own imprint signing a distribution deal too. This sounds like great news! Edited September 23 by ChooseyLover 1

It's kinda the job of a 'classic' label, distributing music all over the world in physical form, and lately, sending the music to streaming platforms (and some playlists too). The artists still own the masters while they can stop worrying about making release strategies on each country, with the language and legal barriers that it carries 5 3
