k4rmabutterfly Posted September 23 Posted September 23 It seems like every generation a huge popstar falls off completely like Xtina and Katy did. Will this gen continue the cycle? Dua? Multiple people say she's the new Katy Perry Doja? Can she handle fame? Sabrina? A lot of people are comparing her to Katy and Xtina too Olivia? Billie and Olivia kinda reminds me of Britney and Xtina and Katy and Gaga, and if Billie is the Britney / Gaga from this gen, then… Billie or SZA? Discuss…
A-V-XYZ Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Please stop this stale trolling. Xtina's not forced to retire after she flopped like Britney and Xtina's still winning Grammys to this day. 5 5 2
Imagine Dragon Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Billie, Olivia, and SZA for me seem the only ones who will have longevity.

Gelato Posted September 23 Posted September 23 the only place i read about a billie/olivia rivalry is on this website, everyone in real life likes both and both artists like each other 1
KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 23 Posted September 23 By the current looks of it, it's Dula Peeps. Even though she will establish herself as a massive touring act and have the occasional good hit time from time, her decline from her peak era was the biggest compared to Olivia and Billie etc. Due to long breaks and poor management, not a decline in creativity or quality!
itshyolee Posted September 23 Posted September 23 You forgot to add Chappell. People are definitely going to get annoyed with her and do her like the Dixie Chicks. 2 1

Britney retired because of the abuse she suffered in the conservatorship and her dislike of the music industry over the years, not because she flopped. Ironically she had a hit single more recently than Xtina does OT: Dua's showing signs of going down the Xtina/Katy route, but she might be able to pull out of it in her next era. I'd say Sabrina or Olivia but I could be wrong. Time will tell Edited September 23 by Sugar-Rush 1
unclefloprry Posted September 23 Posted September 23 NOT DUA. At this point of their careers Katy was releasing Rise and Xtina was never that big 1 2
unclefloprry Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I think it's between Olivia or Tate because they're 3 years into their career and already on decline. 1
Bloodflowers. Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Tate McRae was never a MPG. She's like a Jessica Simpson/Mandy Moore of her generation I think ageism could be a huge factor for SZA in upcoming years but I hope she serves longer career 1

I feel like pop stars sometimes struggle when they feel the need to prove to their fans that they're a different kind of artist than what they're known for. 1
blueberries Posted September 23 Posted September 23 sabrina = britney/katy chappell = gaga billie = pink olivia = avril/kelly dua = nelly tate = xtina 1

B-Luke Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Hm if she keeps taking significant time off between albums and refuses to put more effort in, it'll be Dua
