eclipsed Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I doubt its actually the worst, I haven't listened to the whole thing yes it sounds very uninspired, bland and lifeless almost as if they are early demos but theres gotta be worse. Obviously her working with DL is what brought on this big of a hate train, do I think it would be praised if he weren't on it and the lyrics/production were exactly the same? No. But maybe she would get like a 45-50 thanks to poptism, its probably slightly worse than Britney Jean which had Work ***** at least and that has a 50 on MC
Hay Amores Posted September 22 Posted September 22 But why is her working with Dr luke became the point of hate, meanwhile some artists getting pass even got a hit with Dr Luke tho? 3 1
Lord Gaga Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Maybe not the worst female album of all time but definitely the worst from a former main pop girl. Everything sounds like an unfinished Kim Petras song with vocals so lifeless you would swear she's just demoing the music to sell to Rita Ora or something. Tones and I rightfully deserve this title however. 3 1
WERKER Posted September 22 Posted September 22 This hate train is absolutely unjust and exhausting. If you think she deserves all this for working with Dr Luke then why aren't Kim, Doja, Nicki, Saweetie or Latto experiencing any of this energy for working with him too? People are literally joining in the hate train because it's trendy and popular to hate on Katy. 4 2

Because others can play the "it's in my contract!!" card, or "Dr. Luke steals credits and not actually involved". While in Katy's case, it's quite clear that it's her choice since she didn't need to work with him last album. And she has more money and resources than others to literally work with any other producers out there. And yet she blindly ran back to him. The fact that he is 143's executive producer means this is as much as his album as hers. So it deserves as much lashings as it can get. Edited September 22 by Rep2000 7
4th Time Around Posted September 22 Posted September 22 (edited) The album is pretty bad but among the worst of all time is going way too far Edited September 22 by 4th Time Around
Bloodflowers. Posted September 22 Posted September 22 The album would be in yellow mid-50s just like Smile if it wasn't for Dr Luke The GP punishing her by not streaming her new album is a punishment enough

It's true when they say that "professional" journalism is all bout reputation and has nothing to do with the actual music. A stupid sub-culture for stupid people. The album is bad, just like a majority of Katy's albums. She's a bad artist. Maybe not as bad as critics are saying, but the difference does not matter when… She is making music about female empowerment with an accused rapist. That **** is offensive to people whose job it is to review this album. So yes, the score is symbolically low and I do not blame critics one bit. 8
ABeyBraith Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Why is everyone saying 'it can't be that bad' have you actually listened to the album? It is THAT bad 7 1
thatsmydemi Posted September 22 Posted September 22 The album is not that bad by any means. What they are doing to her is crazy.

The album is not as bad as the critics say and that the scores are symbolic. Magazines should just hire actual music conoisseurs and relegate these amateur writers to low-gade sensetionalistic articles where they belong.
jomarr Posted September 22 Posted September 22 She deserves it just by working with Dr. Luke. I don't **** with the comments saying it deserves higher. She deserves this score. 1 1

While I think 143 is by far her worst album and I could not even find one song that felt special to me on it, the only reason why it's getting destroyed by everyone is the heavy Dr Luke involvement, and it has become "cool" to hate on Katy Perry on internet. 1
GipJo Posted September 22 Posted September 22 This album is Luke's work as much as it's Katy's work. For that alone it deserves the lashing it should get. Katy bring this to herself, so I'm not sorry if this critically panned Luke's album happens to tie with her name as well. Actually, she deserves it even more because the horrible example she set when a big artist like her collaborating with a known abuser. Shame on her. 1 12
Jay07 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I almost feel sorry for her. The worst reviewed female album of all time?
Lose My Breath Posted September 22 Posted September 22 The album is pretty bad, I definitely wouldn't listen to it again, but this is too much, it's no worse than Britney Jean, or Jlos latest albm 3 3

It really doesn't matter if it's the worst album of all time or 10th worst - it's still really bad And she's an MPG (now former) who has access to a lot of high profile producers… and yet the output is so Jojo Siwa. She deserves to additionally get dragged for involving her favorite Dr. Puke as the main producer. Kats, just because you enjoy this lifeless, bland album with ugly vocals and pinterest lyrics, it doesn't mean it doesn't deserve its lashings. Hopefully this bimbo finally realizes that people do not want to see her working with this horrible man moving forward… I'm glad everyone, from the GP to the critics are making it very clear to her.
