Chappell Roan on not endorsing Kamala Harris: "There's problems on both sides"

I honestly feel really bad for her.  Like she said here she was diagnosed with severe depression recently

https://deadline.com/2024/09/chappell-roan-reveals-diagnosis-severe-depression-1236096345/

All these interviews are adding fuel to the fire. She's the new punching bag of the  media-journalists.
Now she's hated-disliked by the stan world and is also goin through the downsides of not havin her past life and she signed a contract with a label.
She's forced to release music and perform????

Its time for her to stop. Girl pull a Sky Ferreira. Or things can go really bad. Its time for her to really take a break.
I wonder if all these messy interviews are a sign of exhaustion.....
i dont want The rise and the fall of a midwest princess to be  premonitory
She deserves a month-two-3 months of vacations.  Pull  a Hilary Duff

vote in protection of them

It's actually good when white American queer people realizes their rights shouldn't come at the price of this:

I feel that she is a republican. Being outspoken republican basically means career suicide in the entertainment industry. 'Centralists' in entertainment are usually republicans behind the scenes.

She's not a centrist, her positions are all extremely progressive (from queer rights to Palestine) - she actually considers Kamala too much of a centrist hence her not endorsing her

There hasn't been a single time where having a neutral "both sides" stance in politics has led to a positive response. Sometimes it's better to shut the **** up if you have nothing of value to add

I would die if I had to be a popstar while living with my depression. :rip:

She should quit music for a while, tbh. It's not making her any good, everyone sees it. Fame is not something she was prepared for.

this - her statement should not even humor the other side. Just say she, as a democrat, can't specifically endorse kamala. Clear as day.

She needs to take a break, avoid exposure, giving interviews. It is pretty clear that she is not able to reach a higher level of popularity, at least now. She does not like to be a public figure, it is valid.

not voting

Not voting and making it clear you won't vote for Democrats as long as they supporg enocide makes it clear to Democrats that they can't win unless they end their support for genocide.

If Kamala Harris can't win without anti-genocide voters, and yet Harris is refusing to end her support for genocide, it sounds like the only unserious person not wanting to stop Trump in November is Kamala:

If this is going to happen regardless I'm voting to protect my rights and the rights of my fellow citizens.

And why would it happen regardless? Does Kamala Harris not care about beating Trump by supporting popular policies? Odd!

a) If you need a celebrity to tell you who to vote for, then maybe you shouldn't be voting in the first place. Honestly.

b) Chappell quite literally didn't lie. Both parties are ****. She has stated her stance and beliefs on several topics already and she encourages people to use their critical thinking skills (something a lot of you clearly lack) and vote for what's going on in their cities in this same interview. She does not have to endorse a candidate. No one is entitled to anyone's vote because votes must be earned (Democracy 101 btw!) and Kamala failed to win her support, just like many other young people in America. :michael: If you think this statement makes her a "centrist" or "a Trump supporter" then you're extremely stupid (all offence), especially since Kamala's campaign is literally pandering to the centrists/right. :rip:

If you're voting for Kamala because you're afraid of Project 2025 and your rights being taken away then fine, good for you, and that's your right at the end of the day. As for the other Kamala fangirls coming for her, if only you spent this energy into pressuring your favorite candidate to get that ceasefire that she's been "tirelessly working" on for weeks now done.

And of course our ATRL genocide apologists are mad.

Why does Kamala Harris not care that the majority of American citizens - including clear majorities of Democrats and independents - do not support the Biden-Harris admin's continued violation of current American law in giving Israel weapons, or their support for the US government placing an arms embargo on the deeply unpopular Israel?

It's odd to frame Chappell as the one somehow at odds with the pulse of America when clearly she's one of the majority not in support of their country aiding genocide:

I hope everyone who has been harassing her feels bad now. You all are bashing a queer woman with mental illness for not conforming to the standards.

That poll isn't even accurate... anti isreal is an unpopular opinion with a majority of the voter base.

I love her music but yeah I'm not stanning this girl. One candidate wants LGBTQ+ people to not even exist, and the other atleast wants us to all have basic human rights.

You're literally citing a poll paid for and conducted by an Israel super PAC funded by Israeli billionaires called "Democratic Majority for Israel".

How can you claim Chappell or others are uninformed while displaying what appears to poor levels of political literacy? This isn't a drag, but surely, sis, be self-aware?

You're trying to debunk an independent CBS poll by literally citing Israeli government-adjacent propaganda:

Don't see anything wrong with what she said and I totally agree.

Don't get me wrong, I'm voting for Kamala, but it's not exactly like I'm excited about it (though I guess I'm marginally more excited than I was to vote for Biden, sure) and announcing it from the rooftops with pride. It's hard to be excited about someone who is going to continue to fund and arm Israel, who has been part of the administration that extended Trump's tariffs that are majorly contributing to inflation, etc.
