Sugar-Rush Posted September 21 Posted September 21 4 minutes ago, Anthinos said: I can't take people who say that seriously. If you have a choice between a Putin wannabe and a Democratic candidate, then if you want to live in a free country that is safe for all people, female or male, gay or straight, black or white, the choice is simple. Trump is not a normal conservative. It's scary how ignorant people have become. Kamala is not perfect, no politician is. But she is clearly the safest choice. This. I mean why would y'all want Putin's lapdog to be president again when he's made it clear that he wants to deport immigrants, doesn't care about women's rights or LGBT rights in general, and is part of the same party that wants to institute Project 2025? And y'all can miss me with that "but Kamala supports Israel!!!" excuse; Trump is pro-Israel too, so it's not like him becoming president is a good thing for Palestine either. 7 1
Pavement Princess Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I get not being enthusiastic in either direction or not feeling the need to make an endorsement, but I would be silent on my political stance at that point in a very critical election especially since it's clear her values align with progressivism. 1
Tovitov Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Not a single state in the south allows a women to make choices about her own body outside of Virginia but sure, both sides. 3
commander Posted September 21 Posted September 21 She's right though. This whole "lesser of two evil" narrative is what has kept the bipartisan system alive for centuries at the cost of minorities and the working class. She's not saying she's a centrist, she's just saying both parties suck and that's a fact. 10 5
IBeMe Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Good for her for standing by what she believes in Not voting or voting third party or not endorsing shouldnt be shamed imo even if the stakes are high. At the end of the day ppl make their own choices and it is what it is even if you highly disagree with them 7 7
Green Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Some of you drag Kamala too saying she supports a genocide country and blah blah but then want Chappell to shut up It's not like she's supporting Trump. She's saying "I encourage people to use your critical thinking skills" and "So I don't feel pressured to endorse someone." But if you need a celebrity to tell you who do you need to vote for then well... 3
DAP Posted September 21 Posted September 21 She's right and if she were centrist then she'd vote Kamala. Words have meaning you know. 7
Devin Posted September 21 Posted September 21 she is correct both have issues. we are voting for the better worse (round 3).
AvadaKedavra Posted September 21 Posted September 21 (edited) Her right, but one less vote for Kamala helps Trump win the presidency and erode-erase the rights of the trans community 100% and the black community and the rest of communities. But I guess Chappelle's pro-Putin, pro-China authoritarism extremist friends have brainwashed her fully. She'll regret it when she sees the horrible conditions the U.S. will face under Trump. The dictatorship and violence he will bring to the United States. Trump knows that he took his first presidency for granted. Now he will take power by any means necessary and take ownership of everything and do whatever he feels like. Dont underestimate the evilness of republicans and populist parties. Taylor, who was hated by everyone crazily and mocked, will go down in history as someone who tried to stop this pandemonium. Chappelle, the outspoken humanist, will be remembered as an artist who did nothing to thwart this threat sadly and she will regret it later real bad if the orange cheetoh is president and she will cry. We live in weird times indeed Hope someone brings some sense to her Support kamala. Coconuts There's still time chappel. You are the Joan of Arc of this generation. Do the right thing Once Kamala is president u can betray her and spill the truth about her wrongdoings Destroy trump first....then its time for kamala Edited September 21 by AvadaKedavra 4 1 1

Didn't the Biden admin just come out in favor of banning trans youth from accessing some types of gender affirming care instead of leaving the decision to healthcare professionals? And the 2024 DNC was the first in a decade to feature no trans speaker. It'd be a shame if Harris is moving to even Biden's right on trans issues when he was at least rhetorically consistent. 4 2
Fleahive Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Democrats and republicans let's form an alliance to vote off the annoying "I'm not voting I hate everyone" group once and for all. 2 1

She's the same person who said a few weeks ago that she loves her MAGA family members. she's not a centrist, she doesn't want to endorse a centrist (if Harris even counts as a centrist anymore, given how rightward her policy has shifted) 7 4

Venice B Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Girl we ALL know there are problems on both sides you're not a smart genius for stating that but one side literally wants you DEAD like what's not adding up? 3
Popular Post Pop Art Posted September 21 Popular Post Posted September 21 The statement "there's problems on both sides" is 100% correct, but like...there's also SO much nuance missing there. Saying that implies the problems with both sides are equal, and in some ways I can see an argument for that, but overall that is such a fallacy and this is just another miss from her. 15 1
LittleStarmen Posted September 21 Posted September 21 (edited) This girl is pure gen z . Complain about everything doesnt do nothing. She knows that any drag ban wont really affect her since being drag or queer is an aesthetic choice for her team Edited September 21 by LittleStarmen 4 1 1
LIT Posted September 21 Posted September 21 This isn't a "centrist" position. Those familiar with her previous remarks about the Biden-Harris administration will know she has criticized their support of the Gaza genocide, as well as their lack of a sufficiently strong commitment to trans rights, etc.—i.e. criticisms from the left, not from the center. As unpopular as this stance may be on ATRL, no one is obliged to vote for or endorse pro-genocide presidential candidates. I applaud her for sticking to her principles here. 8 4
vuelve88 Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Every time Chappell gives an interview, I like her less.
réveuse Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I feel like there is a misunderstanding. Criticism of the Democrats is not a celebration of the Republicans. Also, if she were a centrist, she wouldn't be making this statement; she'd be a Blue MAGA shill for the Democrats. Kamala Harris will not save you. 7 2 2
Alyssa Edwards Posted September 21 Posted September 21 oh she's a real one ! she ain't no centrist she's the opposite 1 1
Bosque Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Certainly a very interesting energy in this thread 1 1
