ImpressMeMuch Posted September 25 Posted September 25 inb4 team Kamala clips "I'm Voting for ******* Kamala" for a commercial lmao 4
shoganai Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Girl I like your music but at this point you're getting annoying, shut up 2 2
ontherocks Posted September 25 Posted September 25 In all honesty, we don't need updates on how she's voting or who she endorses anyway. She ain't that important really 4

More Than A Melody Posted September 25 Posted September 25 LMAO she said exactly what I said she should say (in a much dumber way, but I'll take it, also Kamala is not "the left", she WISHES, BUT ALRIGHT). And her sycophant fan @State of Grace. just downvoted me for the exact comment. She needs her publicist to edit her, for real. 5 2 3
Vegvisir Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Anyone popping in here saying they're sick of hearing her opinions or that they don't care is full of sh*t and part of the problem. You DO care, and you're obsessed with willfully misconstruing the nuanced thoughts of a young woman unafraid to speak her mind on a public platform. This is nothing more than an incredibly intelligent, unapologetically queer artist being critical of systems that use queer people as policy pawns. And she's right to f*cking say it. 5 1

sciencemagic Posted September 25 Posted September 25 7 minutes ago, wish said: This is the clearest she's ever spoken on the topic. And she finally said "genocide" Respect to her for that. With that said, I hope she stops explaining herself from now on. Many people are dedicated to misunderstanding and misconstruing her words, and she shouldn't give them any more power. I guess I'm confused about why she's even brought it up. She clearly doesn't want to play the fame game which is totally fine, so it strikes me as odd that she's continuing to speak politically - something that ostensibly takes your image from just a musician —> celebrity. she could've just posted a voter registration link or something initially and called it a day. 1

I would have put it in my other thread but wouldn't let me edit it, so created a new one. If mod wants to merge this thread with my og one that's fine! 1

Her points make sense but she is just not able to articulate them in a good way.

It's what she should've said from the start. But she seriously needs her publicist to help her abridge and get there more quickly. It's absurd to me that she's this big and so... unedited. I'm saying this for her own sake.
kayliah Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Atleast that is some damage control . girl is on fire just hire a Pr team and a publicist to handle your bad image and ungrateful one. I know cabello, lil nas , charli xcx would kill for that organic success and effortless smashing success. 1
yonsé Posted September 25 Posted September 25 (edited) 15 hours ago, Communion said: You're rambling now. She didn't sit on a fence. She made it clear - she stands against genocide and that prevents her from endorsing whoever stands with genocide. Your post is just.. not serious. You're not a serious person nor making serious arguments. You're hiding behind versions of identity politics, running between different identities hoping to see that one will stick as a character assassination. "She's not even part of this community!". "Oh, she's a lesbian?? Umm okay white girl!!!". Kamala Harris is not someone you're going to successfully defend by invoking black trans women, let alone when Harris' own record includes disproportionately locking black trans women up and intentionally denying trans women in prison access to gender-affirming care while defending putting them in men's prisons. Wanna know what's sitting on a fence? Defending destroying trans women's lives because "I had to enforce the law as it was written, even if I didn't like it". My god, vote for Kamala if you want, but your frustrations and the lashing out that comes with it are because Harris herself has chosen to run as a liberal right-winger and is purposefully isolating progressives. Go brag to geriatric centrists that she locked up transnational gangs or something. Go get their vote. very interesting straw man argument here. you *completely* disreguarded the fact that drag is a political art form and her erasing that is gentrifying the entire reason it was created. first it was "you hate gay women" but now its "YOU CANT DEFEND KAMALA". who said i was doing that? I said that she cant be apolitical while being a drag queen. and that is facts. drag is political. point blank period. and until that video she posted this morning saying "F*CK TRUMP", she refused to condemn the right, despite the fact that they want to make drag a jailable crime. but i don't expect anything more from people like you who just love to be contrarian. Matchatea Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Thank you to the mod who merge my threads with this one! Doesn't feel scattered now! I am Canadian but a lot of us over here watch the US election, our election season isn't as fancy or exciting as yours are. So I am interested in American thoughts on this. Celebrities don't endorse candidates like they do in the US, nor do we have huge conventions.

Girl you would get eaten up by the dolls if you tried to say this sh*t with your chest in front of them lmao You have ZERO idea what you're talking about.
Dear Reader Posted September 25 Posted September 25 This has seriously has taken ridiculous proportions. She has the right to criticize both parties while voting for the lesser evil, whether you'd want to agree or not. Politics are not stan wars where you have to blindly defend your "fav". Politics are rotten and there's a high chance you're voting for a corrupt person when you vote on any party. I honestly wish she wouldn't explain this much and make so many videos cause some of you just don't want to understand! 2

Sucks bc no matter how many times she explains this, ppl are still gonna take it out of context and reach.
GhostBox Posted September 25 Posted September 25 (edited) It's not hard to say "I do not support every policy that Kamala stands for but she is the best choice between the two candidates. I care deeply about LGBT issues and there's only one candidate who also cares about them. I also care deeply about every woman having their right to choose their own healthcare. That's why I'm voting for her!" but instead she keeps saying things that come off to people as her both siding it even more 💀 Edited September 25 by GhostBox 2 4

If anyone needs to get out of their bubble it's you, sis. Just because you have friends who fall in line each election and think criticizing the democratic establishment is tantamount to treason doesn't mean that's a shared reality for the rest of us. That fact that you're even entertaining the notion that Chappell is anything but a radical far-left queer makes it clear as day that you haven't gotten past liberal politics 101 yet. 1
