She's so ANNOYING right now and I wish she would just stop doing interviews and setting herself up for unnecessary backlash

This is coming from a huge Chappell fan btw

I kinda get her point about not endorsing because it means you basically support that person when in reality she most likely dislikes both of them but still wont vote for trump but still.... hard to explain that.

The online "backlash" is coming from zionists, genocide apologists, and Kamala fangirls. I'd say she's on the right track sis!

People who read her interview as her voting for Trump were being stupid if we're being honest. :skull: And actually I do agree with her, your perpetuation in democracy doesn't have to be led by the devil or the deep blue sea. In my country I haven't voted red or blue ever, I feel positively about putting my democratic vote to a party I actually believe in. I think unfortunately America has been stifled for years by two-party politics that some people fail to realise if you take the time to sit through the manifestos of the smaller parties you might actually find something you closer believe in. And maybe this fork in the situation you're all in just now would feel different.

Why do y'all hate gay women so much kjnjnkjnjk. Arguing gay women have some inherently larger distance between how they can organically appreciate drag vs gay men, all while the entire economies of drag are built around cultures and industries that rely on women as their consumers, is so...

Let alone how a ton of her references have largely been so coded In female queer culture that her initial blow-up saw millennial gay men online going "Her?? a gay icon?? She's not even doing anything super queer???" while teenage lesbians on Twitter were going "WE'VE BEEN STANNING FOR MONTHS!!!".

I promise you can navigate her politics without this weird "THIS INTRUDER!!" thing being done largely because people don't consider lesbians' existence.

Chappell: I will not endorse anyone but I will be voting and doing everything I can to protect people's civil rights especially trans people's. I'm glad we have a woman of color as a presidential nominee!

Liberals: How dare she not endorse Kamala! She's not standing up for her own community! She must be a secret Trumpster!

never said she was a trumpster.

and that is NOT condemning the right.

She sounds like the type of person on the internet who would only sound smart to dumb people.

She also sounds like she still uses Tumblr and gets her information from there.

I don't disagree with what she said in this video, but I want her to stop feeling the need to explain herself so much. It's not a good trait & it will lead her down a toxic route.

The good sis needs a bit of media training so she can articulate herself well enough in interviews that people aren't constantly up in arms over her words. I know she has good intentions, and I've been defending her DOWN for weeks now, but it's exhausting.

seeing as she is still a white cisgendered woman and trans people of color created drag culture yeah i'm gonna say something about her. and i'm allowed to.

y'all love to hide behind her gayness like that gives her a pass. this has nothing to do with her being a woman and EVERYTHING to do with her being cisgendered and white.

Gottmik, TS Madison, GiGi Gorgeous, **** even Michelle Visage used to walk the balls....the list goes on and on of women who embrace the culture while paying respect to what came before her. This gentrification of drag that she does that erases all and any political stance from the culture THAT IS INHERENTLY POLITICAL while trying to sit on a fence is STUPID and im allowed to say so.

It was obvious what she meant. Liberals are just braindead.

Being impartial or in the middle or even just silent automatically makes you an enemy. They force you to say I Love Kamala to keep your career alive

I get where she's coming from and maybe if Kamala wasn't always pandering to the right "I will shoot someone that comes into my house" / "Israel has a right to defend itself" and started listening to progressives, she could've get an endorsement from Chappel.

I also agree with her statement on people needing to question things more and use critical thinking. Atrl is a prime example of this.

That said, Chappel should realize this is a close election and what is on the line is very significant so not making things clear might do more harm than otherwise.

Well yeah, I also hate how she has to make a TikTok explaining every statement she makes after they constantly get taken out of context by the headlines and the likes of PopCrave/PopBase/etc.

She articulates herself really well in the interviews and she should just ignore it the next time her words get twisted like this by people who cannot read.

Love to see it!  People have been insanely obtuse and obsessed with the quote taken out of context.

while trying to sit on a fence

You're rambling now. She didn't sit on a fence. She made it clear - she stands against genocide and that prevents her from endorsing whoever stands with genocide.

Your post is just.. not serious. You're not a serious person nor making serious arguments. You're hiding behind versions of identity politics, running between different identities hoping to see that one will stick as a character assassination. "She's not even part of this community!". "Oh, she's a lesbian?? Umm okay white girl!!!".

Kamala Harris is not someone you're going to successfully defend by invoking black trans women, let alone when Harris' own record includes disproportionately locking black trans women up and intentionally denying trans women in prison access to gender-affirming care while defending putting them in men's prisons.

Wanna know what's sitting on a fence? Defending destroying trans women's lives because "I had to enforce the law as it was written, even if I didn't like it".

My god, vote for Kamala if you want, but your frustrations and the lashing out that comes with it are because Harris herself has chosen to run as a liberal right-winger and is purposefully isolating progressives. Go brag to geriatric centrists that she locked up transnational gangs or something. Go get their vote.
