prézli Posted September 21 Posted September 21 (edited) I see everyone is talking about The Substance on X. Both Demi Moore and Dennis Quaid get critical acclaim. AND they're over 60 – Demi is 61, Dennis is 70. Plus, Dennis is a Trump supporter. What does this mean? It's never too late? You can get successful at old age? It doesn't matter if you're a flop in Hollywood, there's always a second chance? Edited September 21 by prézli

V$. Posted September 21 Posted September 21 She's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment! The Substance is one of the craziest films I've seen in a looooooooooooong time! Y'all are not ready. 1

Jack! Posted September 21 Posted September 21 The Substance is a wild ride, and very deserving of its acclaim, same goes to the actors in it. Why should success be defined by age? When it's good, it's good. 1

Asparagus Spears Posted September 21 Posted September 21 She won't win the Oscar but she for sure should be nominated for one 1
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted September 21 ATRL Moderator Posted September 21 Just watched The Substance and Demi ate
Uncatena Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I think it's ridiculous that Dennis is being pointed out because he is in like... four scenes and does absolutely nothing memorable apart from eating shrimp disgustingly. Meanwhile, Demi delivered the finest hour of her career with a moving, assured and fearless performance that is both memorable and piercing. Without her, the film would fall apart.
playboi Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I want to watch The Substance so bad but it won't come out for another month here

Johnny Jacobs Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Why not. I mean.. Who tf thought matthew would win an oscar for best actor? Kristen Stew would be the lead contender for best actress? Everything can happen
Scandalous Posted September 22 Posted September 22 this movie was WILD and margaret qualley should be getting her flowers too for keeping up with Demi dennis was honestly the biggest surprise of the cast for me, ive never seen him be so goofy and unhinged
Bends Posted September 22 Posted September 22 This phenomenal film took my breath away. I really hope she gets an Oscar nomination.
Mr. Mendes Posted September 22 Posted September 22 (edited) Am I shocked that two incredibly successful actors who've been in many successful films and gotten more than their fair share of praise are in another good, successful film delivering praise worthy performances? No, not really. Edited September 22 by Mr. Mendes
