Popular Post glitch Posted September 20 Popular Post Posted September 20 Ever since 2017 Katy Perry has not shown a return on the investment that her label has funneled into her career. And yet the cash continues to flow. This has me wondering, is her music career a front for slightly more illicit activities? I mean we know she's no stranger to working with criminals, as long as she's able to sit in first class on her next flight to planet unbothered. 16 1
Bends Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) I do not understand how she will return the investment. It was clear that Smile had not allocated a special budget for her, but now all actions have not even been analyzed and aligned with the market trends. Edited September 20 by Bends
Dolce Vita Posted September 20 Posted September 20 she's an essential oils mlm scheme at best if we're being real 5
glitch Posted September 20 Author Posted September 20 Who remembers when Victoria Beckham's label went bankrupt because she was such a flop 1

How do you feel having an artist who did a whole album dedicated to black face as your avi? Genuinely curious as to a JM thoughts on that travesty. OT: Makes sense. She's probably selling drugs or something. 1

She already spilled her voice on "Dog Eat Dog" and "Fiction" about consumerism and mainstream culture.

I'm not familiar with all of her discography. What does this have to do with her doing blackface / basically a minstrel show of an album????

She confessed her sins, moreover, that album was the worst in her discography, it is impossible to listen to it.

Achilles. Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I think all famous people are, actually. Like how are these actors getting $25M paychecks per film and it's not a cover for financial crimes? 2
smartalek22 Posted September 20 Posted September 20 To be fair... I would argue that Smile and Witness were return on investments Witness singles have a lot of Youtube views & Swish Swish did well on streaming, and of course, Chained To The Rhythm, her last major hit. Smile had Never Really Over, but Harleys In Hawaii was picked up by TikTok later on which has shown in streaming success. 143 however is a complete disaster in all metrics and is definitely an unsalvageable era for her. Capitol thought it would be massive, and put a lot into visuals, promo, etc and it turned out the worst way possible
KillingYourCareer Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I said it a while ago that she's the Lehman Brothers of pop

But then obviously everything was derailed the moment we found out Luke was involved and hand picked by Katy herself.

She alluded it to how she felt like a black man. Her and Janet Jackson are good friends. She is black MUVA approved. Edited September 20 by MistressKay
LovingDays Posted September 20 Posted September 20 You guys are doing too much... I don't even know any Katy song besides her singles but, like, surely you have something else to occupy your time with, right? 1
BrokenMachine Posted September 20 Posted September 20 This is way too much. But I can't even at this thread suddenly turning into a Joni Mitchell discussion 2

BFFR. she is a white woman, she has never had to deal with anything close to what Black people in that time were experiencing. it was out of touch and stupid and she should continue to be criticized for it. doesn't matter how good the rest of her discog is. its a stain on her legacy.
