fememeist Posted September 20 Posted September 20 There's a sentiment that post-album release singles almost always flop, but yet Billie and Sabrina's post album release singles(Birds, Wildflower, Taste, Bed Chem) are behaving like lead singles while Ariana's tbim completely flopped. Why is that?
Popular Post RideOrDie Posted September 20 Popular Post Posted September 20 just tell us what you wanna hear about ariana instead of beating around the bush sister she's a flop? over? tanked? 15
Nico Robin Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I think she waited too long and the promo was missing(?) I don't remember her performing it other than at the MET Gala
UnusualBoy Posted September 20 Posted September 20 It's weird because Ariana's album had some songs that could've worked a post-album release singles and do decent but nothing actually took off, even TBIM stalled with a fresh remix.
Glamthony Posted September 20 Posted September 20 who cares, WCBF(WFYL) was a smasjh and it's a certified classic with the best video released this year, Ari is no longer the it girl and she's not a newcomer artist like the other girs, so she's more than fine with her two pre release smashes. 2 1
Selegend Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I think Ariana's Glinda personality affected the era negatively in the long run. When we look back at Eternal Sunshine first week, it did look that it was going to last longer and i blame her 2024 personality to it. 3

terrorblade Posted September 20 Posted September 20 by the time it was made a single the novelty has worn off. she should've gone with bye or supernatural instead
Tm4074 Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Maybe because all those songs were pushed during/right after album release when their albums were at their peak attention with the audience. TBIM was pushed as a single three months after album release. It was also doing ~4M daily streams around the album release so idk what point you're trying to make? TBIM is still charting on the Hot 100 (19 weeks so far, peaked #16), is currently top 3 on rhythmic radio, and is doing 1.1M+ daily on Spotify (312M total). For a post album single pushed months after it peaked, it's doing fine even if it's no smash I think Ariana will survive this "flop" lmao. 3
wish Posted September 20 Posted September 20 The American GP is definitely looking at her differently ever since the homewrecker allegations and new appearance/voice/personality.
whatyouwant_ Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Just now, NewStanner said: Bestie, I like you, but as Nicki said "Zon't zo it". It's been a classic from day one (ended fadtasize for sure) OT: Bed Chem and WILDFLOWER are not even singles and Taste was released as one along with the album release, so let's not Well i don't like it very much, there's better options on the album like bye and supernatural 1

Dialamba Posted September 20 Posted September 20 TBIM was doing just fine without being a single like?? It will end with over 400M streams by the end of the year which is good btw Also not bad for a fad
Smarticle Posted September 20 Posted September 20 She needs to push another single Supernatural? Bye?
Strawberry Bubble Posted September 20 Posted September 20 She wasted her momentum... and eternal sunshine is actually a great album. But Yes, and is just not a good first single choice.

This is the real reason why I made this thread, I'm salty she didn't fulfill my fantasized singles campaign i had planned out for her
Bethenny Frankel Posted September 20 Posted September 20 she still got two #1s, only miss was having supernatural not being single that was the SMASH of the era
Solaria Posted September 20 Posted September 20 She peaked in 2019. It's okay. WBCF is a smash and she will always be relevant no matter what.
