glitch Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) I just tuned into Ava Max's new song "Spot a Fake" and I can safely say that it sounded exactly how I would expect it to. Her music all exists in the same soundscape with very little variation between songs. What is Ava Max's unique selling point, what makes her stand out from the crowd? It's like she's some AI generated pop star in the vein of Ashley O from Black Mirror. Why do we allow her to get away with this? Edited September 20 by glitch 1 9 2
Airelinn Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Did she ever said the song was a growth or you just made that up? 3

Where is her A&R? Why does the label give her a budget for these half baked songs?
Mrnoniee Posted September 20 Posted September 20 but we LOVE her ya'll would SLURP such BAWPS it they were farted out by your favs but since its eva its cool to hate her. 1 1
popstyle Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Its not a bad song but It sounds like something from D&D shes not showing any growth. She really needs to step out her comfort zone. 1
Digitalism Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I doubt anyone take her seriously outside the stan world which stans literally anyone. The moment she tried to make something different on her second album she made 10 blinding lights. The girl was lucky to date Cirkut, that's it. And even that wasn't enough.
Totami Legend Posted September 20 Posted September 20 It still slaps so The dead response to Problem and Million made her go back to mid range vocals I hate her 2
Wonderland Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Why would the female ABBA ever need to change her soundscape? 2 1
Rihinvention Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) "Slap a new title on the same track" implies that we've heard the original. Some of us have taste. Edited September 20 by Rihinvention
massenlight Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Some people (Tate Mcrae) can't write a second good song in the same style, Ava recorded (co-wrote) dozens of great tracks in similar lane, it's mastery!

Kylie Jenner Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Why do you guys not have this same energy for the long list of other artists who stay in their lane and release music they enjoy making? Why is the bar so high for Ava? 1 1

The way she could build a whole persona behind this trope and it'd be a hit tbh....

Reginald Posted September 20 Posted September 20 You can say her music sounds similar, but I say it sounds consistent While other artists put out skip-worthy filler, she has yet to release a single bad song 6
