Mikeymoonshine Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) The thing is if an album is really successful then some of it's songs will probably become hits over time driven by the album's success, especially in the streaming era/the era of tiktok virility. Like Brat was successful as an album first and that pushed 360 up the charts where as apple became a hit because of tiktok. Or a lot of lana's albums have singles that missed the top 40 but ended up with decent certs from success over time. So idk it depends how you classify hits and what you consider a successful album. WhateverYouWant Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) Of course. If a album can sell without a hit single carrying it then that makes it even more impressive imo. Edited September 20 by WhateverYouWant

TipToe Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I don't think hits are the most important metric, unless the alberm is made with a focus of smashing in this way, with ear candy, catchy pops etc. A project can have legs supported by another factors but that depends on the type of artist, its fan base behavior, general expectations etc.

As an ERA it's not, she didn't even invest in make it an era like she did with 'Midnights'
