Khal Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Probably better for ears all over the world if she doesn't. 1

You people can't be serious if you actually believe this. I didn't compare their musical talent. It's about the fact Lauryn has been able to tour off the same album for 25 years and the demand is still there, she doesn't need to drop music to be successful. And it's the same for Cardi, there will always be a place for her in pop culture and she will stay getting cheques. I wouldn't be bothered about constantly working myself to the bone if I was her either. 1 1
Mornings Posted September 19 Posted September 19 (edited) It probably has something to do with having three kids and being in a tumultuous relationship. Also having such a gigantic first era that's still pulling in numbers that hold up to current releases adds huge pressure I'm sure. It's not rocket science people Edited September 19 by Mornings 1 1

It's not rocket science people She's already vocalized being anxious about underperforming in multiple interviews. Like you said, it's not rocket science. She literally said it out of her own mouth. These people are just horny for the album 1
BrattyBottom Posted September 19 Posted September 19 The replies in here are so delusional. IOP is such a classic body of work that yeah, maaaybe it's going to take awhile to craft something that doesn't feel like a massive sophomore slump. It's not like she has completely abandoned music. She's also been JUST FINE securing massive gigs off of an album that's 6 and a half years old. I would much rather wait for a successful sophomore album instead of accepting whatever garbage some b has slapped together (Meg, Nicki, Ice) 1
BlahBlahBlah Posted September 19 Posted September 19 She has plenty of hits outside of IOP, it's annoying but it's not like she's not making music still. She just had a top 10 single a couple months ago, too. I think it's a combination of family drama + tremendous pressure to deliver an album as great as her debut. (And it's an impressive grammy-winning debut, who wouldn't be intimidated?) She's definitely waited long enough that I don't think the pressure is going to be as intense as it might've been a couple years ago, though. 1
makeme Posted September 19 Posted September 19 IOP isn't charting anymore and gets minimal streams on Spotify. This is not the one and done album yall think it is 1 1

FOCK Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Well She's nothing without the $moke & mirrors - & the execs she was begging for budget are now fired. Her career is now in the hands of the man behind Ice Spice, it doesn't bode well for ha.

Atlantic is going through a TON of changes…Julie Greenwald, Michael Kyser, etc. leaving. She probably should've dropped a while back, because with a new regime comes more challenges. I highly doubt we get anything this year or even Q1 until the dust settles atp. But I wish her well. In general, I'm very tired of this conversation (both sides of it) lol. 1
thatsmydemi Posted September 21 Posted September 21 She's definitely scared of its performance, and the latest flops/underperformances have not helped.
