You know, it genuinely might be. I've never been a big fan of her work but I've had fun with quite a few of her tracks, including her last two records. This just lacks any of the usual character with Katy's music, with the exception of maybe Woman's World, and that's saying something. Occasionally there's moments where you think "oh, this one may actually not be that bad" and then that god-awful production kicks in and it's just so empty. There's literally nothing there to hold on to. Maybe you could argue that Wonder has something cute going on, but I really thing it may be just her daughter's adorable voice that gives it charm.

Riverbank Posted September 20 Posted September 20 The way I'm screaming at all the reviews so far talking about Daisy's feature when that's not even her voice, which only further proves how inauthentic and contrived this whole thing is 3 7 1

Which will be something I guess

Damn THAT bad, That WW is the best material on the album? Even BJ sounds better than WW I might give it a listen but I'm unsure tbh.

KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 20 Posted September 20 These publications are being a little bit too unhinged about this. I just hope Katy stays strong and doesn't end up in a dark place again like during the aftermath of Witness. 1 1
Spicy Pisces Posted September 20 Posted September 20 For the Pitchfork truthers, these are their scores on previous albums: Smile: 5.7 Quote Katy Perry's bubbly, cliché-ridden pop feels especially unsuited for life in a pandemic. But despite all her garbled platitudes, she remains a master at executing chart-topping formulas. Witness: 4.8 Quote On her fourth album, the pop superstar finds a more unifying sound but struggles to come up with lyrics that aren't plain cringe-worthy.
