Scrapped early. Not the direction they wanted for the album. The sample is ever so sligthly. Quite noticeable in the intro and verses. Both "Got Me Good" and "You Ain't Ready" sounds like 80's outtakes from very early Tension era. These are the existing and confirmed outtakes from Tension II: 1. Got Me Good 2. Not Your Business 3. Night Owl (Final Version different from the leaked one. Production is top notch. Sligthly different lyrics. The bridge and middle 8 is totally insane.) 4. Tell You This Boy 5. You Ain't Ready 6. What Goes Around... Comes Around 7. What You So Scared Of? 8. Winter (Way too good just being an outtake) 1 1

It addresses serious issues, including social injustice and the victimisation of people of colour by the police. It is not some obscure song that the publishers would be particularly open to having used by a white woman in another song that has zero connection to social injustice in the context of black lives. Dam. Ok. Makes sense. Can't Kylie have the song reproduced so that it doesn't need the sample?

It is my understanding they simply didn't perceive the financial returns the song could glean as being worth the bother in context of other songs also vying for post production attention. As with "Love Unlimited", it's somewhat unanticipated (and off script) that so many now appear to unanimously love "You ain't Ready". I wouldn't place "Night Owl" in this category as its potential was always obvious to everyone. Based on my reflections of public reaction to certain songs, these are wholly inconvenient (almost focus group type) findings that no A&R actually wants to know.

I saw it as a way to release a couple more bops, promote the tour and herself and I'm totally satisfied in that regard. 3
