Neyde Posted November 3 Posted November 3 if you wish to change things up while streaming this try listening to these songs in this exact order: 1. Tension 2. Lights Camera Action 3. Someone For Me 4. Padam Padam 5. Kiss Bang Bang 6. Good As Gone 7. Edge Of Saturday Night 8. Green Light 9. Hello 10. My Oh My 11. Shoulda Left Ya 12. Hold On To Now it's SO good imo 2 1
°ColdFire° Posted November 6 Posted November 6 It took me maybe two full listens to get into this album. I would not call it a better record than Tension I, but it's a pretty consistent and good continuation. The only complaint is maybe too processed vocals - not sure why Kylie pursues this kind of chipmunk vocals when she can sing and carry a tune. However, I truly hope she switches the sound a bit for the next album as for me her last three albums are in the same lane. Lights, Camera, Action, Someone for Me, Diamonds, Hello, Dance to the Music, Edge of Saturday Night are the best songs on the album, imo. Dance Alone can be cut out. 1
Dante Silva Posted November 8 Posted November 8 "You Ain't Ready" contains an interpolation of this classic track ("The Message" by Grandmaster Flash) and BMG not being able to secure licensing for the interpolation (sample), may be why "You Ain't Ready" can't be released: 1
Supervillain Posted November 8 Posted November 8 This kinda aged like milk… It's a shame we never got those bonus tracks 1 1
Mke1979 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 What is everyone's rankings of Tension II now that it has been out? Here's mine. Eagerly awaiting more new songs/bonus tracks. 1. Hello 2. So this is legit? Why are they scrapping **** last minute that's supposed to come out? This is ridiculous 😒 and such a disservice to both the people behind the scenes who worked hard on the songs and us fans that are being cheated out of more content

"Night Owl" was under contention as lead single for a potential joint expanded "T 1" and "T 2" repack in Spring/ Summer of next year to serve as a buzz in context of the tour. The leak means it may not get used anymore. Leakers generally know what is okay to leak (and what is not). In the case of "Night Owl" they got it very wrong. Edited November 20 by Dante Silva

I really hope that Night Owl isn't paid dust. Making that a new single right before the tour would be such a smart move. Also where tf is her Joel Corry collab? 1

Night Owl was supposed to be a digital bonus track, not a lead single for a potential joint expanded Tension repack. That's hillarious and all made up by you or someone you might be talking too. You Ain't Ready was scrapped from the start. Got Me Good likewise. Don't hand out misleading information please 🙏 3 1 1

Kern Posted November 27 Posted November 27 "Night Owl" was initially meant to be the centerpiece of Kylie's 2020 album, Disco, but... it never made the cut. The track was recorded during one of her most experimental phases, where she was really playing with a mix of retro 80s synths and late-night, atmospheric production. The Story: Kylie wrote "Night Owl" in the dead of night, inspired by the isolation of being stuck in her London studio during the pandemic. In fact, the track has this haunting, almost ethereal vibe because she was playing around with the idea of night creatures, like owls, and the idea of the night being both lonely and liberating. She was trying to capture the feeling of being awake when the world was asleep, lost in your own thoughts. But here's the kicker: The producers weren't sure it fit with the rest of the album. Kylie was really pushing for it to be the lead single for the project, but the label was a bit hesitant. There were whispers that they felt it was too "dark" and too avant-garde for mainstream pop. Kylie, always one to take creative risks, didn't want to compromise the track's vibe, and so she decided to shelf it—for now. The Big Twist: Kylie never really let go of "Night Owl." In fact, she has several versions of the song, with different moods, mixes, and even a more club version that has a deeper house influence. Rumor has it that Kylie's been quietly reworking the song for an upcoming project—possibly a secret Deluxe edition of Disco or even an entirely new album. Some insiders say it's going to be re-released as a bonus track with a special collaboration, though they're tight-lipped about who it is. The Real Drama: Here's where it gets juicy. During one of Kylie's "secret" listening sessions with some key industry figures, a major pop rival—let's just say, a British diva—apparently heard the track and was obsessed with it. Word is, the rival even tried to get the song for themselves, but Kylie wouldn't budge. That little incident reportedly caused some tension, and the song ended up being buried even deeper in the vault. 4 1
