feeling nostalgic for kylie and bridges... need them to reunite fr

this album has some cute moments! but the padam-chasing makes it feel a touch too calculated and less genuine than the usual KM fare... she's above some of these songs. i'm sure i'll listen to T2 plenty and have it grow on me... but i'm looking forward to the new direction she's hinted at for the next album.

Yeah the lack of bridges is not it. Thus is basically a tiktok Kylie album. Like its already a relatively short album with her including her collab droplets. So why do Hello, Kiss Bang Bang have no bridge and final chorus. Someone For Me has a final chorus but no bridge? Diamonds, Good As Gone and Taboo all desperately need proper climaxes

The Independent just gave this album a 5 stars review!

"Good As Gone" reminds me so much of

This is what I was just saying the other is the direction I want her to go in. Kylie would slide on records like Turn Me Up, Run Away With Me, Gimme Love, Warm Blood, I Didn't Just Come Here To Dance, Never Get To Hold You, Cut To The Feeling, Party For One, Now That I Found You, Talking To Yourself, Surrender My Heart, Bad Thing Twice, Anxious and Shy Boy

Tension > DISCO > Tension II

There's something about this new proyect that I'm not feeling at all, maybe it's too try hard? Tension felt like a natural evolution from DISCO, but now she's trying to replicate shamelessly Padam Padam in at least 6-7 different tracks.

It will probably grow on me, tho

Yeah but this was intentional as the criticism for Tension 1 was that people felt misled expecting a club pop record so that's what Tension 2 is meant for

there's no risk taking at all. everything is so safe and run of the mill, that's what bothers me.

Kylie not really known for being experimental though

the Someone For Me - Good As Gone - Kiss Bang Bang run bops hard, but I didn't like anything else

Very disappointed with Hello, the leaked song had huge potential and I was hoping it would be a finished version

I'm sorry but this is so bland and uninspired… It doesn't feel like a real album to me. I can't believe this is the person who gave us X or Aphrodite.

I hope she puts dance music away for the next album and concentrates on various genres of pop and explores a bit more.

Can't wait to see her though!

Someone for me has the same hook as Cure for Love by Ellie Goulding.

I was massively worried going in to this, but there's just about enough of the Kylie camp en playfulness to make me enjoy it all the way trough. I do think it's beneath her capabilities and a bit creatively hollow. I'm just going to see this as a extension of the first album, the spirit in which it was intended I think.

After listening to the whole album… it's fine with some highlights but it just feels like a quick cash grab.

Lights Camera Action, Taboo, Someone For Me, Good As Gone, Kiss Bang Bang and Hello are good and should have been on a re-release/super deluxe edition.

WAIT NOT THE BAD ROMANCE INTERPOLATION IN THE DIAMONDS BRIDGE :tornado:

Whoever said it's giving Britney Jean kinda spilled… but like in a good way! I definitely think the Padam derivative sound is the 2020s equivalent of the will i am'd robotic sound

Also whoever compared it to Rare also spilled, Good As Gone is kinda Dance Again but cuntified

I hate the way she dumped the collabs at the end instead of sprinkling them throughout the album. It feels so lazy. I think Shakira did the same thing on her latest album too :skull:

I actually like how she dumped the collabs at the end. lol I'm not a fan of them, so to skip all 4 at once is great.

alright so first impression…

I like it! it's definitely more cohesive than T1, but the highs aren't nearly as high (I mean Padam, Tension, HotN, TWDfL, and Story are all just so brilliant). it very much feels like a companion album and i'm chill with that because any new Kylie music is always welcome :celestial3: but anyway, on first listen, I really like Taboo, Someone for Me, Diamonds, Hello, and Shoulda Left Ya. the only one that felt kinda eh was Dance to the Music tbh

OK I think i've seen the light.

Tracks like Someone For Me, Good As Gone, Should Left Ya & Diamonds really grew on me :clap3:

But still T1 > T2

Someone for Me, Kiss Bang Bang, Hello is the trinity :alexz:

Of course I wish there were bridges because some of the songs feel half cooked without them, but it's all bops nonetheless. Extension II soon and a plethora of digital bonuses this upcoming week, please :gaycat2:

I thought she sampled CGYOOMH in it but nobody else is noticing it so I might be delusional :gaycat6:

Dance To The Music sticks out not necessarily for its sound but for its vocal production tbh, everything else vocally is very dry, cold and vocoder heavy while DTTM is serving warm vocals and lush harmonies straight out of Disco
