Elvenpath Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Only an hour and a half to go to listen to the whole álbum here in Argentina 2

And I'm sorry but the term "hag music" is not something I ever want Kylie associated with ever. I want more of a synthopop direction if possible or another indie trippy pop album full of Breathe's give us Impossible Princess 2.0 The songs while mostly good, sound like Selena Rare outtakes. Just too generic and trend chasing for someone at this point of her career. By 'hag music' I just meant pop music made by older women that isn't focused on the charts / trends. If you know any of those artists mentioned, you'd know they're all dance / synth pop 1
That Bad Eartha Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I agree with the complaints about the metallic sounding vocal production. It was an issue I had with some of the original Tension album too, and it has been true of all her collabs recently too so the issue is something with how she is recording/filtering/processing her vocals not necessarily the producers she's working with. But as for the complaints about it just being a retread of Tension, well duh. Certainly a far cry from her most exciting work, but I'm seeing a full and proper Kylie tour in LA next year so whatever helps her promo and making sure she doesn't wait 10 years for the next time she comes back I'll allow. If anything I'm glad she's getting the Tension leftovers out her system now, if she's clearing out all those gems now maybe we stand a better chance of a truly fresh new album a few years from now rather than her repurposing stuff for the next era (like how a decent chunk of OG Tension were Disco leftovers). 3
ZENO Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Hello or Kiss Bang Bang should have been the lead and deserved a bridge. I like them even better than Padam Padam 2

Now if the next album is the same paint by numbers then for sure, go in. right like this is a glorified Side B, she's giving the people the sound they asked for from Tension and didn't get 5

BlackJesus Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 This is her TFM. Orville's and Sia's songs have no right being on here 3 1

poki Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 2010s = 3 albums 2000s = 4 albums 2020s = 3 albums and we are just halfway through, with a new album already in the works. Not to mention a tour with arenas in the US in 2025. It's okay for this album to not reinvent the wheel. 6

Scheissex Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Why are people expecting her to reinvent the wheel on an album literally called Tension II It sounds like Tension leftovers because… it is. That's the point. 3
stephen1108 Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Ok so after listening and digesting this album for over the last 15 hours…. I'm floored. Truly, it's a great body of pop bliss. Kylie really hit the nail on the head here! I loved Tension, but Tension II absolutely gives us more of what we wanted / expected from the 2023 project. It's a great time to be a Little Minoguester 5
stephen1108 Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I feel like there's quite a few single choices here, but I think the clear ones are Someone for Me and Good as Gone. Kiss Kiss Bang and Hello are also up there, but they're very Padam Padam/LCA.
Junlin Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Do you have someone for me a fresh BOP a sing along smash 1
Scandalous Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 ia it just me or are 3/4 collabs not available on the streaming version so stupid
PaloSanto Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 After sitting on it and replaying it quite a bit, I think the highs on T1 are higher but this is a bit more consistent. This is gonna go triple diamond on my stereo that's for sure. My biggest complain is track lengths and lack of bridges. Extended mixes will probably help the songs build and bretahe a bit more but without bridges it's not gonna make a huge difference. Then again this is an issue she's had for 3 albums now so maybe it's time we get used to it. Rationalizing it though, at least she'll be able to sing more songs on tour on the same old 2 hours saw the HQ textless cover on twitter so I'm leaving it here 1

BlackJesus Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Now why aren't the collabs available on Apple Music?
