VENUSWAVE Posted October 17 Posted October 17 if antyhing is as good as Vol 1 but never better and that's perfectly fine! I can't believe she didn't include Heavenly Body or Drum though, they wouldn't sound too out of place and they deserved a proper release 2

Taboo and Someone For Me definitely give me pure X vibes. For the rest, it's not so much the songs per se as much as her straying from the goody-two-shoes-disco in exchange for a colder robot-sex clubby sound like X had. 3
SpaceOddity Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Should've Left Ya more like Should've Left It Off The Album. Not too crazy on Diamonds or Dance To The Music either, she did DTTM's formula better on Disco like twelve times. 1
Pop Music Aussie Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Just now, Haze said: Taboo is campy goodness. She really sells it. It's basically her sound! This is why the disco album worked so well 1
Dangerous Posted October 17 Posted October 17 (edited) Kiss Bang Bang 🔥 Edited October 17 by Dangerous
SpaceOddity Posted October 17 Posted October 17 1. Good As Gone - an absolute smash, the lyrics are great, the production fucks, it's perfect. 2. Hello - This is a shameless Padam rip off but she's allowed to copy herself if she can do it justice. My Oh My shouldn't have existed when she had this one right here. 3. Kiss Bang Bang - Either this one or Gone should've been the lead. 4. Taboo 5. Lights Camera Action 6. Someone For Me 7. Dance To The Music 8. My Oh My 9. Diamonds 10. Should've Left Ya 3

I agree. I haven't listened to the album properly yet but I feel similarly. It's the production of the vocals themselves to me as opposed to the engineering which Kylie does herself. Too much autotune in my view and not a lot of low end. 3
Zkn Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Just listened to the whole album, this is exactly what I expected after padam padam! I liked tension, but tension II is going to be on replay way more than the first 1
Tyrion_LMG Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Tension > DISCO > Tension II There's something about this new proyect that I'm not feeling at all, maybe it's too try hard? Tension felt like a natural evolution from DISCO, but now she's trying to replicate shamelessly Padam Padam in at least 6-7 different tracks. It will probably grow on me, tho

TakeYouToHell Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Smash after smash It annoys me tho that the collabs are unavaliable on AM (first Tension had the same issue with 10 Out of 10 but it got fixed after a while)
djcalpal Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Kiss Bang Bang and Hello are Padam Padam in different fonts... and I'm not mad about it! 1

Kylie hasn't been risk taking since Golden tbh. That said…most of the album is generic bops but its catchy. I expected more tbh but im enjoying it. Im on Dance To The Music for now. 2
Rocket Posted October 17 Posted October 17 People expecting her to take risks on what is essentially just a continuation of Tension. Now if the next album is the same paint by numbers then for sure, go in. 7
Kiss It Better Posted October 17 Posted October 17 love it, it sounds stronger than Tension for the most part even though like 1/3 of this are like recreation of Padam Padam she should've added both Heavenly Body and Drum to this though, they're too good to stay hidden 3

Miss Kylie did the vocal production herself and it sounds amazing! Nah, I've been a fan of Kylie the bulk of my life, listen to her voice on Golden, X & Aphrodite for comparison. Also, recording doesn't equate producing, she records herself then sends them to the producer. Edited October 17 by AmericanGirl 1

Very metallic, it makes me sad, because her voice is still incredible after all these years. I get they leaned more into the Padam vibe, but I hope we get more organic sounding vocals from her soon. I saw someone name drop R2D2 on another forum when discussing the original Tension and it really irritated me, because the weird tuning + distortion aren't even necessary. She needs to hire a separate vocal producer to do the entire album like B did with Glory. 1

halcyonday Posted October 18 Posted October 18 OMG guys this album reminds me of Britney Jean so much bops on bops! Especially Good As Gone sounds just like something from BJ, maybe Til Its Gone 1 4 2
