fulgadrum Posted Monday at 12:57 AM Posted Monday at 12:57 AM Bouquet (the song) is growing on me so much...I liked it on first listen but I really feel like it encapsulates everything about Gwen's life right now...Blake, the boys, their marriage, being ok for the future, the truck..... i really love that bit in the chorus that says "sunflowers and roses tied up in a bow and". it's so elegant and satisfying. mining that bit in my phone over and over. 5
rebeltwat Posted Monday at 02:57 AM Posted Monday at 02:57 AM The album's growing on me the more I listen without some ***** in my ear (me) telling me it's too bland and vanilla. Even if she did a mini 10-date North American tour I would be so happy to travel to see her. 6
MatiRod Posted Monday at 10:29 AM Posted Monday at 10:29 AM I'm a lifelong stan but I can't get into this, it needed more variety. I don't know why she didn't lean into an 80s synth sound when she was the one who brought it back on LAMB in the first place. At least there is "Purple Irises" which is really great and can live in her pantheon of classics. 2
Melancholy Posted Monday at 12:44 PM Posted Monday at 12:44 PM I LOVEEE this, I've been waiting for this kind of chill breezy album from her...but yes I'd love if she retained the 80s synthy sound, an album of Cool would've been even better my faves: Bouquet, Empty Vase, All Your Fault, Somebody Else's, Swallow My Tears 1

Yes, this song is one of Gwen's best. When you try to put yourself into her shoes and immerse in the song, you can really feel the song. LAMB fans won't like this sound, but it's still so Gwen to me, love how she's branching to this soft pop rock sound and while I still feel that she doesn't fit much with country she makes it work. 1
vipanonymous Posted Monday at 05:57 PM Posted Monday at 05:57 PM It's a beautiful video but that ending She really tought people wouldn't notice the country hat and the horse. She should've embraced it as a Country record like Kylie did with Golden not lied her way trough that interview saying it's not country. I wonder if Sophie directed it. It reminded me of True Babe artwork a shame she didn't include it as a bonus track 2 2
perfectillusion204 Posted Monday at 05:58 PM Posted Monday at 05:58 PM I know I have talked my **** about this album but I will say I do enjoy Swallow My Tears a lot. But that's the only song I'll be using!
wren Posted Monday at 06:23 PM Posted Monday at 06:23 PM Gave this album and it's really nice - it's an easy album to listen to/has a nice fall chill vibe to it.

It reminded me of True Babe artwork a shame she didn't include it as a bonus track I've been having this discussion with some Gwen friends lol, and this is the general place i've landed on why she's been so defensive about just saying it's somewhat country influenced... We're all (or most of us?) coming at it as non-country fans, and probably pop/alternative/whatever fans. Not only has Gwen become a huge fan of country, but she's had two huge #1 country hits, is married to one of the biggest country stars of a generation, and has very much become a part of the country world, and it is probably the "scene" she is most connected with at this point in her life. So it does kind of make sense to me, that for her, she'd be very sensitive to the idea of not wanting to come off like she's "going country" when she doesn't feel like the music is country... From where she's coming at it at this point in her life, it's very far from country... Where we're coming from, it's an obvious step towards country... And both are true... But she's obviously coming at it from her perspective. And the truth is, she's been using some version of the country imagery ever since Let Me Reintroduce Myself (that obviously wasn't country at all lol)... Clearly, she does want a nod to her country LIFE, but that can be very different for her than country music... It IS confusing... But Gwen Stefani is confusing lol. 1 1
poki Posted Monday at 07:50 PM Posted Monday at 07:50 PM I absolutely adore this album. This is a rock album at its core with country touches. 5
GwennyGwenGwen Posted Monday at 10:19 PM Posted Monday at 10:19 PM Any expectations on what first week sales might look like? I was kind of worried it might be a Nelly Furtado situation (zero shade, i love her, and quite like 7...obviously quality has zero correlation to commercial success!)...but i'm slightly more optimistic now lol...the 2 cd and 2 different vinyl varieties they were selling on her online store are sold out, the cd is sold out on walmart.com, it's been fluctuating between #5 and #6 on iTunes, and she's done a decent amount of promo release week (after doing almost zero up until now)...i'm optimistically thinking the 20k range is possible? But idk, she's gonna get absolutely nothing from streaming lol. 2024 first week US sales for women that could be considered her "peers" albums: Shakira - 33k JLo - 21k Kylie - 12k Sia - 9k Sheryl Crow - 4k Nelly Furtado - >4k Mary J Blige also released an album this week, and will be an interesting direct comparison.

Amazon says the album is: #99 on CDs & Vinyls chart #46 on Pop CDs & Vinyls chart This is actually incredibly good?! Most of the top 100 are Christmas and Taylor albums at the moment. 1

ImpressMeMuch Posted Monday at 11:14 PM Posted Monday at 11:14 PM I know she really wanted this to be concise + cohesive, but listening to TIWTTFL makes me think there was an album like that in here too... maybe for the deluxe. I adore that something like "obsessed" (classic gwen) lives on the same album as UTLY. If we get a deluxe version of this with True Babe on it, maybe a few "alternate" production bonus tracks, the other songs she mentioned cutting in the interviews... I'll be in heaven!
