SchmoodRing Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I always wonder with her being friends with Drake and her knowing that she's had a major influence on younger artists like Alessia Cara and Tate McRae. What are the chances and which combo of Canadian artists would cook up the best feature?
Rihinvention Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Tate, obvi. Need Timbaland to produce it though. Ryan Tedder cosplaying as Timbaland/Darkchild/Pharrell/Danja just doesn't have the same je ne sais quoi. Greedy is starting to seem more-and-more like it was a fluke, and if he can't recreate that sound properly, then Tate's label needs to send her to the actual source. 1

Timbaland has sort of lost his touch though 😳 I'd rather Tate go to Darkchild and Danja. Also it's not like Greedy is her only hit either 🙄 1

I'm saying "capturing the authentic 2000s RnB sound is seeming more-and-more a fluke." The snare and percussions on Exes and IOIO are way too prominent, which yes, could be her way of integrating 2000s inspiration with 2024 trends, but I want her to commit to the authentic 2000s RnB beats. There's a reason why people keep creating mashups with Britney, Nelly Furtado, Fergie and Cassie's instrumentals, and it's because those beats are fire. It's not a criticism of Tate. It's a criticism of Ryan. This. This is what I wanted. The pastels… 1

Abracadabra Posted September 18 Posted September 18 As much as I love Loose, I don't need Nelly to try and recreate that sound. The second time around creating a specific sound is rarely as good, and Nelly is at her best when she is doing something new and fresh, which is part of why Loose was such a slay in the first place. So I'm gonna say The Weeknd, I could actually see them fitting together well on a track 1
Pillz Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Timbo hasn't made anything interesting in years. The Weeknd x Nelly would go crazy on a Say It Right kinda song 1
