TheArgonaut Posted September 17 Posted September 17 She's not paying for those certifications. Just like she's not reporting the Eras Tour boxscores. She wants to stay humble I fear
DevilsRollTheDice Posted September 17 Posted September 17 I will never understand this website's obsession with certifications. The music consumption is the music consumption, regardless of the RIAA. We can all see the streaming numbers lol 2
Popboi. Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Most of ALL songs in TTPD, Midnights and folklore (all) are eligible for Platinum or multi platinum, single or not. Her team is not going to update all of that
Cruel Summer Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Don't you have to pay - or have your label pay, more often - for RIAA certification? I expect her to update her whole discography in bulk some time in the future, like around the Super Bowl if she does it some year or when an important release like the debut re-recording happens. Certifications are primarily a promotional vehicle, after all. 2
Klein Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Maybe they'll update her certifications at some point when she needs the headlines. Or maybe they're waiting for her to become the most certified artist ever to do it. Certifications are kinda pointless in any country they are not automatic anyway. I mean, even in countries in which they are automatic they're not that interesting to look at so...

byzantium Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Her albums are about 50 million units under certified. RIAA plaques are obviously not a priority for her. Honestly, she probably has over 100 (if not 200) platinum eligible songs. It's just clutter at some point. 1
Lose My Breath Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Sis, come on, probably every track on her last several albums would be platinum if certified
The Music Industry Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Her team is allergic to updating her certifications. But according to @istan4badgalriri, it means Taylor has moved zero units in the last 4 years. 2
Eternium Posted September 17 Posted September 17 2 hours ago, Green said: I'm surprised someone like her doesn't update her certifications. She can score RIAA's artist of the decade for the 2020s and 2030s if she waits and only certifies a certain portion of her discography in 2029 and then certifies the rest in the 2030s. She might just be playing the long game.
Rep2000 Posted September 17 Posted September 17 She's waiting for her favorite child REDPUTATION to be Diamond, yes yes.
bielneira Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Because her team hasn't bought the certifications yet

Certifications can give you an idea of the sales/units in each country
Sad Serenade Posted September 17 Posted September 17 platinum albums not single. Which is actually more difficult to get.
