Redstreak Posted September 14 Posted September 14 "You have a cat therefore you're responsible for my trash" just isn't a sound argument 2 2
Buffy Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) Here's a healthy advice: For your future roommate situations, schedule a lunch or dinner to have a formal sit-down to discuss roommate etiquette. This is the VERY first thing that needs to be established prior to signing a lease. You need to prepare a list of what everyone is responsible for — this includes keeping the place tidy free of mess, no food sitting out if it's not going to be eaten within a couple hours, no leaving dishes in the sink, everything has to be put away in their proper places, delegate a person to vacuum once a week, litter box/animal areas must be swept, cleaned, put keys & mail in a designated area, take out the trash when it starts to smell, keep the bathrooms clean, no cooking during late hours of the night, everyone must inform each other whenever planning to have guests over, etc. Schedule a "check-in" either 6 months or once a year to see how your roommate is liking living with you and see what things could be improved between both of you. Update your list of responsibilities afterwards so you have a formal document. Do all the above and it'll create a less stressful environment. From the way your text messages sound, it sounds like no rules were ever put in place. That's how you end up getting friction and bad roommates. Edited September 14 by Buffy 1
nostalgic Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Let that cat enjoy his chicken wings. It's the least he deserves for putting up with the both of y'all 2 2 11
Komet Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) They left the food out for three days? On the counter? Like, chicken meat just hanging out in the open? For 3 days? Edited September 14 by Komet 1 6
Bloodflowers. Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Even without your little pussycat eating chicken meat, not cleaning after yourself is NAAAASTY 1
Bussea Posted September 14 Posted September 14 "that chicken gonna sit in front of your door hoe pls don't play with me *****" not you getting a lil ghetto chiiii 10
Bussea Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) but you're right. leaving food out in itself is NASTY like ***** it takes less than two seconds to throw it in the trash. leaving it out with an animal around is even more stupid Is marc hot though? what kind of wings were they? i'm hungry and horny tbh Edited September 14 by Bussea 2

Quiqui4eva Posted September 14 Posted September 14 You're both being immature but your roommate is definitely in the wrong. The absolute refusal to take accountability

G.U.Y. Gaga Posted September 14 Posted September 14 3 hours ago, undermyskin said: Hey guys! I'm at my wits end with my current roommate and just want to come on here and get an unbiased consensus of who's wrong and who's right in this situation. For context, I have a cat and have never once asked my roommate to clean up after the cat. However, for the past three days there's been a tray of eaten chicken wings left out in the open on the island. They are not my chicken wings. My cat is trained to not jump up on the countertops. However, as animals often do, when I'm asleep or at work and there's open food left out...he jumps on the countertops. For the past 3 days I've been picking chicken wings off the floor because the cat has been getting into them. Last night my roommate added MORE chicken wings to the tray. I woke up this morning to chicken wings scattered across my floor. I picked them up, went to go get coffee, and when I returned home there were MORE chicken wings on the floor. At this point I was going to throw the tray of chicken out myself. The rest goes as pictured below. Let me know what you guys would do! https://www.krishnaastrologer.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAC1mb0Dq_WFEwVF4QX1E5RFTphNrc&gclid=CjwKCAjw6JS3BhBAEiwAO9waF3mnaf0K5Rtl99UovjUfNwXpeo8UHWa_BDQEDBvQcY6wj35yjg1amRoCuUoQAvD_BwE
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) Would be great if I could read the OP But based on the texts, you both need to make changes and commitments in order to live with each other. Both of those things are wrong but I'm leaning to side with the cats owner. I'm guessing the other person knew about the cat when they agreed to be roommates, therefore anyone with a brain knows not to leave food out so he's less qualified to live with others cause he seems like a selfish and disorganized person Spoiler But ngl that final text made me cackle Edited September 14 by NoOneDiesFromLove
Mornings Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Cats are clean. He's leaving out gnawed on bones for days on end. You're right. And he's also being a touch condescending straight man pseudo homophobic with the way he's talking about you confronting him.

Moloko Plus Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Ooo girl those texts remind me how lovely it is to live without any roommates. Absolutely hated living with other people who'd leave **** out. I'm on your side sister, anyone who leaves chicken wings out for days on end is disgusting 1
montacelo Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I'm on your side OP, this wouldn't even be an issue if he picked up after himself like HES SUPPOSED TO 2
