undermyskin Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Hey guys! I'm at my wits end with my current roommate and just want to come on here and get an unbiased consensus of who's wrong and who's right in this situation. For context, I have a cat and have never once asked my roommate to clean up after the cat. However, for the past three days there's been a tray of eaten chicken wings left out in the open on the island. They are not my chicken wings. My cat is trained to not jump up on the countertops. However, as animals often do, when I'm asleep or at work and there's open food left out...he jumps on the countertops. For the past 3 days I've been picking chicken wings off the floor because the cat has been getting into them. Last night my roommate added MORE chicken wings to the tray. I woke up this morning to chicken wings scattered across my floor. I picked them up, went to go get coffee, and when I returned home there were MORE chicken wings on the floor. At this point I was going to throw the tray of chicken out myself. The rest goes as pictured below. Let me know what you guys would do! 1 10

The cat is 110% my responsibility. You don't leave food out on the counter for days in a shared space especially when there's an animal in the house. And I had already cleaned up the wings several times. I also offered to get rid of the tray of chicken wings for him. Edited September 14 by undermyskin 6

Rainy Devil Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I'm on the side the cat is. BTW even if there was no cat, your roommate should not leave leftovers out. That is how you get cockroaches and other kind of plagues. 10

Burn Posted September 14 Posted September 14 You're in the right but you also do come across as being aggressive in these texts which probably isn't helping the matter. 11
