mercurialworld Posted September 13 Posted September 13 So, my family has a tradition every year where we make a bunch of wine from scratch. It's a long process that involves picking the grapes, crushing them, and then letting them ferment for weeks. But in the end, we have delicious homemade wine that we all enjoy together. I personally love a really dry chardonnay—not that much sweetness, just crisp and refreshing. I also tried a new one yesterday, an Assyrtiko, which was delicious and had hints of citrus and minerals. But I know everyone has different tastes when it comes to wine. That got me thinking, as we all gather here on ATRL to discuss our favourite pop stars and songs, what are your preferences when it comes to wine? Do you prefer a bold and rich merlot, or a smooth and fruity pinot noir? Or maybe you're not a wine person at all and would rather have a bubbly rosé or a refreshing sangria. Whatever your preference, I want to know! Let's take a break from all of the Taylor and Katy drags for a moment and let's bond over our mutual love for vino.
KillingYourCareer Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I don't. I went to an event in Monza in May and I met one of my clients there, and we drank prosecco while talking for hours, glass after glass. I came out of that place pale as a ghost despite my weekly tanning salon subscription and thankfully I wasn't the one driving that night, all I know is I woke up the day after with a lifetime disgust for wine. 2
Sawk Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I like when they're sort of clear ish, but taste citrus-y, not sweet like the darker ones usually taste, it's hard to describe

YourFavoriteWeapon Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Wine is so gross. I only really drink vodka and gin.
Happylittlepunk Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I dont drink a lot normally but I would love to get too know my wine. I don't know **** about wine tbh. Any brands you strongly recommend? I like my stuff to taste fruity if possible.
byzantium Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) I like it in my hand. But, I tend to like a smooth and light flavor. I think I like it somewhere in the semi-sweet end of the spectrum. Edited September 13 by byzantium
Breathe On Moi Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Wine is so heavy tbh, all I think about is sleeping or being belligerent when I'd kill a bottle with friends. hard pass now
KFC Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I only drink wine when I want to get as drunk as possible as quickly as possible. I like them sweet and strong! Tbh some of the rubbish I drink contains so much artificial flavour I'm surprised it's legally allowed to be called wine 1
Devin Posted September 13 Posted September 13 favorite red: cab sauvignon favorite white: chardonnay i like bold, vanilla, fruity, and oak type wines. 1
SlowGinFizzzz Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Preferably a Muscat Ottonel or a Chardonnay. I like 'em fruity and sweetish, but not too sweet. 1
glitch Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Don't really like red, rosé is disgusting. White I'll drink most of the standard ones but I prefer something a bit on the sweeter end of the spectrum.
flower moon Posted September 13 Posted September 13 i dont really drink but when i do its not gunna be wine. i find most wines kinda gross. its a very overhyped drink. i actually went wine tasting at several wineries last weekend and the descriptions of the wines are so pretentious and ridiculous. hints and notes of this and that pls 4
Pikachoo Posted September 13 Posted September 13 but for real, I like a Pinot Chardonnay, and if I want something sweeter, White Zinfandel.
loveisdead9582 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I enjoy a dry red. Cab Franc, Shiraz, petite Syrah, etc. if I'm drinking white I do prefer a bit on the sweeter side. A German Riesling or some Prosecco maybe.
Raphy23 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Dry full bodied red. And I like it cold not room temperature.
