KevinKDC Posted September 12 Posted September 12 (edited) 1:30 until end. She mentions that it's "fascinating" since the record was everywhere. She reflects on her experience with country music and how she had planned to fully embrace a country era. However, during a lunch meeting, she was told she needed to completely abandon pop, or her songs wouldn't get radio play. She also shares that she's not surprised by the snub toward Beyoncé, adding that Bey doesn't need the award—she's already winning in her own right. Edited September 12 by KevinKDC 2 3

Notice how her only two country solo songs didn't get any nominations despite being a bigger chart hit than the song with Vince Gill. Country industry is a cult full of misogynistic racists. 1

It's really simple. But seeing as how she's been nominated and she's able to do both country and pop, it contradicts a lot of what she said in the video. 1

She has no idea who the other nominees are so she can't really say it's racist because for all she knows there could be a diverse nominee And she clearly doesn't care enough about the CMAs to check for them, reinforcing what she was saying them being irrelevant. You seemingly didn't know Kelly was a former nominee either once again proving her point 3
JoeAg Posted September 13 Posted September 13 yesss Kelly!! well-said and graceful as always and I'm so glad to hear the Don't Rush praise omg a classic
livelikemusic Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Colton was the perfect person for this interview. Two amazing personalities.
Sharamee6 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) Shut up Kelly. Beyonce didn't get any nominations because that whole record is a try-hard mess. Why would they make room for her when there are actual country artists, that eat breathe sleep country music.. They don't do it as a gimmick or for commercial purposes, they do it cuz it's passion, and it's right up their ally. It was embarrassing enough when she won best Electronica album at the Grammys, when you literally had true Electronica artists like Bonobo, Diplo, Rüfüs Du Sol nominated in the same categories. Jay Z has his connections with the Grammys but he can't mess with the CMAs. Edited September 13 by Sharamee6 1 4

Comedor Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Does Taylor still get support from country industry? Or did they ditch her too?

loveisdead9582 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 … Texas hold'em definitely got some play but beyond that… the hype lasted for a week and then disappeared. Country music is known for being populated by many racist misogynists so it's not really surprising that she wasn't nominated. Texas hold'em should've gotten some nomination somewhere.
