She appears about 15mins into the movie, and is present all the way through.

The narrative that she's barely in is just liddos lying as a coping mechanism.

Less the $40M. :deadbanana2: Worse then The Marvels… crazy how 2019 Billion dollar Movies sequels have fallen to the pits. Even crazier is this didn't have a hate train for month or a Writers & actors strike. It had a full promo rollout. No excuse

$40M is out the window, HALP

Good god :deadbanana: a massive failure. Mind you before pre-sales went up they predicted 125-150M opening for this :deadbanana:

Imagine telling someone even a week ago that the sequel to a movie that grossed 1B+ would struggle to compete with a widely ridiculed movie like Morbius :bibliahh: this is one for the history books

One could have predicted this the minute it was announced they were going for the musical approach. What in the world made them think the original audience of the first movie wanted a musical with Lady Gaga to follow it up?

this would actually be lower than Thank You Bradley's OW, but that only had a $36 million budget.

Meryl had 28.5 mins of screentime in Devil Wears Prada, FYI and she was a lead.

D cinemascore :deadbanana:

lower than Madame web, borderlands, megalopolis, Morbius.. Hell could be lowest for any comic book movie EVER :deadbanana:

the first one breaking all the good records and this one breaking all the bad records is quite something

With the terrible cinema score, this is truly becoming a debacle. NOTHING redeeming about it whatsoever.

I mean, discussing the narrative how much or how little Gaga is in the movie isn't really targeting the problem. A quick sweep at the reviews shows that neither her or Joaquin's performances are what's bringing the film down. :skull: But I understand ATRL-ism's and looking for easy drags. But in seriousness I think it's just a case of the movie just sucks, bad writing and script and I don't know why Todd Phillips or anyone at Warner Bros. for that matter thought an appropriate follow-up to Joker, considering the audience it targeted in 2019, was a musical. :michael:

A swing and a miss. Everyone involved will live though.

So; only 2nd movie post covid to get a score as low as this

lower than cats (2019) too

lowest for any DC/Marvel project

possibly lowest for a blockbuster ever

the Liddos that are polled probably kept this from an F cinemascore but at least then it would join a memorable category :deadbanana: now it's just a disaster without any of the benefits a disaster might bring.

this isn't going to gross domestically more than the original did in its opening weekend and it could very likely end up below 200M; aka the budget of the movie without marketing
