Charli xcx - 'Brat and it's completely different but also still brat'

The answer is no because people have lives and likely do not have the capacity to consume every bit of media related to artists they listen to.

Just because she's trying something different doesn't mean people are dense or not getting it if it's not to their taste. It's a disingenuous way of interfacing criticism to say "you don't get it" especially when it's not universal to every track on this.

Huh? You clearly don't get it since we were having a discussion on the approach to songwriting that she's mentioned in several interviews for basically this entire year. So yes, the "you don't get it" applies when something factual isn't taken into account.

Would you like me to link them to you or are you implying you're one of those people who have lives and likely do not have the capacity to consumer every bit of media related to the artists you listen to?

she always finds a way to keep the songs so fresh... it's like they're having a second life again... the brat era is ICONIC :WAP:

I'm going to take a second with this one to dive deeper because the middling reactions didn't really move me with the leak but I'm kind of seeing why now nnn.

It's an interesting choice to have most of the songs be more like continuations and direct accessory pieces to the main tracks rather than heightened reduxes like Guess and GSC but I'm feeling right now like taking B2B, 365 and Club Classics and going back to brat deluxe. We'll see how my brat fall unfolds tbh.

Taylor dodged a bullet by not being on the SIAK remix. I would be so disappointed if this would be the version she'd be on because the og SIAK is such a massive banger while this remix is imo just a massive bummer because of its wasted potential

You cared enough to respond not once, but twice!

Anyway, hope you enjoy diving into the rest of the album like you noted. I'm trying a similar approach as I'm personally struggling to connect with the material so here's to both of us finding something more we like.

People like shifting the goalposts with Charli's ambitions all of the time (classic deflection method through years of flopping while making incredible music so I don't blame them/lowkey thank them for it) but I think had Taylor done it, it would be more similar to the original like the pre-release remixes were.

It's subversive to have Ariana not do a commercial sounding song but it's expository as to why she doesn't - it's not always the most flattering fit.

This is basically a new album and while it's less accessible (not as catchy I guess) it's just as good as BRAT! Only for intellectuals

Outside of a few songs, I might like this as a whole more than the original :jonny:  I kinda need to be in the mood for the original but this version is more chill and has some more variety.  I'm obsessed.

Charli understands the concept of a remix and completely reimagining the songs transcending them into new lives while also maintaining their originals integrity. I can see why some stans are not going to gravitate towards this project because they were just expecting features to be slapped on the original productions from Brat. But if you've been with Charli since the get go this remix album truly feels like a celebratory home run for Miss XCX. She's done just enough restructuring on these remixes to make both versions of each song feel like huge successes in their own right. The fact she got Ariana Grande Butera in her Pinkpantheress and Robyn-fembot-era bag is something I will be trying to wrap my head around for the next several weeks to come, she's just brilliant sorry!

I highly doubt Charli even considered having Taylor on a remix, and Tay wishes she could have a song as edgy as SIAK remix in her discography. :cm:

Anyone knows what happened to this? :chick3: (couldn't post the short snipped from the soundcloud so pardon me this weak ext something :rip:).

I know it's a remix album but she could've added this one and slapped a ft., it sounds like HEAVEN

Love her down but we both know she couldn't hit that note on the chorus from the OG :gaycat4:

I could be very wrong here - but I remember someone said when Brat dropped that the remix album was still in the works and could feature new songs (I wanna say BlackoutZone, but I could be incredibly off here so I apologize if that's the case!).

Not to get all ~conspiracy theory, but I have a hard time believing this release is it when it comes to the "bratosphere". Is this an actual remix album? Sure, but I would use the word reimagined - but I think the large majority of people are expecting tried & true remixes (producers, dj, etc.). That could be a missing piece and what I think may be a third release - either officially or unofficially. I could also be delusional.

There's also the point Charli made about wanting to saturate the fanbase with demos, remixes, etc. at the start of the campaign. Perhaps plans have changed given the success of the OG record? Time will tell as I've learned quickly this summer that predicting what happens next with this era is a fool's errand.
